"Some friends and I joined a Gadventures tour that brought us to this locally-owned hotel. My friends, one of whom I worked with at IHG's corporate office, and I loved it! After IHG we really appreciated the diversity instead of a cookie-cutter hotel. The maintenance of the historic building is impeccable. The tea room was a great place to have an Egyptian or Turkish coffee however don't expect to get a vodka martini. The restaurant might not always be open when you want it to be, but breakfast is a typical, over-the-top selection of breads, yoghurt, fruits, and more. The hotel's neighborhood looked a little sketchy, so I didn't go out alone. As is true anywhere in Cairo, there are stray dogs and cats everywhere. I was told they're vaccinated and very well cared for, although we were advised not to get close enough to be scratched or bitten."
