Atlas Hotel Downtown Cairo

"I had booked a Delux Room with a balcony for 5 nights, the photos looked absolutely beautiful. When I arrived at the hotel, downstairs, their reception and cafe area looked good, just like the photos. However, when I was taken to my delux room, it was nothing like the photos. The room smelt very bad of damp! The wall paper was ripped and the curtains were broken, old and falling off, the whole room was very dirty. Tge door to the balcony would bot open. I could not stay in that room any longer than 20 minutes. I went to the front desk to say i will stay there that night but would like the remaining 4 days cancelled/refunded to move to a different hotel. I was told i can not cancel, its their rule. I said i didnt see any such rule when i was booking the hotel. They finally offered to change my room instead of cancelling the remaining days, the room they took me to was no better in decor, it was old and dirty but thankfully it didnt smell as bad as the first room. There was an old lady sat in the corridor (morning and night), i found it really strange walking past her every day, she would whisper something in a different language, it was quite creepy. "

"Staff were very friendly, helpful and approachable specially Mai, she was professional in the term of communication and helping me in lot of stuff Hotel room was clean and for the money value it was ok. Hotel location is very near from all the historical places like Al moaaz street and khan el khalili The manager of the hotel cared to follow up on our stay to ensure that we had a comfortable one"

"Room was nice and clean, so was bathroom and bed. Location was ok, 25 minutes walk to Egyptian Museum, 8 min walk to metro station, shops nearby. In the afternoon in the neighbourhood there is huge traffic jam so taxis and ubers are problamatic to use, better to walk or use metro. Breakfast was totally ok. Staff was very professional."
