Warm and inviting, Great location.
"I travel to Egypt often and discovered this hotel several years ago. It's conveniently located near the old Egyptian Museum, Tahir Square, and Talaat Harb/downtown shopping area, with easy Metro access. The hotel has a range of rooms, several which have terraces. There is also conference space, and a rooftop restaurant. It features Nubian décor and colors. The staff is amazing, friendly, yet professional. With 24-hour security it is ideal for solo travelers. The surrounding neighborhood has plenty of cafes and shops, and it's just steps from the Nile River. It has become my home in Egypt and I appreciate the warm welcome and service I receive here. I strongly recommend the Almadiafa Hotel."
DISHONEST, AND DISGUSTING! A TOURIST TRAP TO AVOID AT ALL COST!!!!!
"DISHONEST, AND DISGUSTING! A Tourist Trap to Avoid at All Costs! My recent stay at this property was an absolute nightmare from start to finish, and I feel compelled to warn every single traveler considering it: DO NOT STAY HERE. YOU WILL BE EXPLOITED!!!!! From the moment we checked in, we were greeted by persistent flies and this problem continued our entire stay. This alone was unacceptable but we tried to make the best of our stay. We didn’t know this was just the first sign of abysmal standards at this "hotel" and how they did business. Shortly after checking into out room, the shower head broke the moment we touched it, clearly a pre-existing defect they knowingly ignored and dumped on unsuspecting guests. No warning, no caution, just a broken fixture in a room we were paying for. The staff's conduct, however, was the most egregious offense. There was a clear language barrier, which they didn't just fail to bridge – they actively seemed to exploit it to their advantage. Their communication was misleading and designed to deceive. Just no integrity at all! This was super clear on our supposed check-out day. I received a call to my room, alerting me that I needed to rebook. Naturally, I went to Expedia and immediately rebooked for another night. Mere minutes later, I was summoned to the front desk. There, they showed me a printout showing my original booking included the night in question so I actually did have Wednesday night booked. The staff member, told me to simply cancel my new Expedia booking but didn’t mention their could be some complications with request or that it would need a managers approval. I had just booked it 20 minutes prior, so I trusted her and cancelled through Expedia online. When I called back (about an hour later) to confirm the cancellation on their end, the young lady dismissively repeated, "It's okay, it's okay." I took her word, and went on with my day. I mean I did cancel in less than an hour of booking and this was several hours before a guest could check in to a room anyway. About a week later, I noticed that the charge for the duplicate booking was still on my account. Expedia, to their credit, tried to help, but the hotel FLAT-OUT REFUSED to refund my money. This is not just unethical; it's outright CROOKED. How can a hotel justify taking payment for a duplicate stay from the same person. I cannot occupy two rooms at once! Who knows what they did with a room they knew I wouldn’t occupy. Maybe, they booked the room I'd already paid for to another guest. Either way this is nothing short of theft and I feel robbed, cheated and like I did business with some shady money hungry people. I would never return to this Hotel. They are predators preying on vulnerable tourists visiting their country, exploiting language barriers and trust for their own financial gain. My advice to anyone traveling to Cairo: AVOID THIS HOTEL AT ALL COSTS. Do your research, stick to reputable, well-known hotel chains with established customer service, because this property has none. Do not let this hotel take advantage of you. They do not treat visitors with respect or honesty. Save yourself the money, the stress, and the utter disgust – book somewhere else."
Travel excursions with Salwa at Sohba tours.k
"Fellow Travelers, Let me begin by saying this is a great hotel for people who enjoy exploring on their own. It is centrally located , a couple blocks from the old museum. In the hotel there is a travel agency called Sohba tours. I highly recommend you plan your excursions with this agency. I was so fortunate to work with Salwa. She is a native of Cairo and very knowledgeable . She even took me to an authentic Chinese restaurant blocks from my hotel!! It is an honest , reputable agency. They will take care of all the details. With them I took a river cruise through the nile river. It was fabulous. In order to be completely honest , I must warn people to bring a mask or two to Cairo as the air quality can become very dangerous for the vulnerable . I would again like to say this is the place to stay and plan your excursions."
