Marriott Hotel Copenhagen

"The shared areas were generally nice and fairly modern however the waterside facing rooms were a different story. While large, the rooms are noticeably dated and still in the style advertised as the “Old” on the publicity shots in reception showing the last modernisation from 2014. The bathrooms had noticeable black mould in many places along with general poor cleanliness and made the room (514) unfit for habitation. In fairness the staff responded to this well and moved me to another room (738) which unfortunately was even mouldier with a cracked bath and tiles. The manager acknowledged the problems required more than cleaning and moved us again. The third room (848) was better but had noticeably just been deep cleaned for mould with the spray even left in the room. This suggests to me all of the rooms suffer from the same problem. The staff confirmed I’d be given a 15% discount for the issues, refunded onto my card. Unsurprisingly this has still not been paid 2 weeks later. If the manager is reading this please feel free to contact me as the experience was definitely not worth the additional premium paid for a riverside room."

"Beautiful view of the river from our 7th floor room. We chose this hotel as one of the few in Copenhagen to offer two full size beds. Staff are all friendly and helpful. Convenient location, there are always taxi’s outside if you prefer. Walking distance to Anderson Bakery across the river, delicious pastries. Highly recommend."

"Marriott Copenhagen is centrally located - 10 minutes walk to the central train station, city hall, and just steps(20) to the riverfront. We stayed here after a cruise. It was a 20-minute ride from the cruise terminal and cost was less than $30 on Uber. Cost to airport was less than $20. It is a massive hotel. Check in could be busy depending on the time of the day. We used the Executive lounge during our stay for happy hour and breakfast. Since the hotel is so huge, there are three rooms in the Executive Lounge. If the main room is busy, walk to the back rooms. The offerings are great, I especially like the cold items. The wines (Dachs) were surprisingly good. Kudos to the team in the lounge for providing excellent services. Everyone was helpful and worked efficiently to clear tables or refill empty dishes. Special thanks to Simon at the check in counter for making our stay comfortable and memorable. While standing in line, I observed how he patiently took good care of guests who were in front of me. When it was my turn, I experienced the same level of care. He was professional and kind. Thank you, Simon. The room was renovated and very spacious, comparable to US Marriott standard. The bed was comfortable. If you like firmer pillows, I recommend requesting for a foam pillow for extra comfort. The room came with two bath robes, two pairs of slippers, and a safe. We enjoyed walking along the river from the hotel to Nyhavn area which is about 35 minutes. My only regret was that I didn’t get to try the sauna and steam room during my stay. I will definitely stay here again when I come back to Copenhagen and use the steam room."
