U Prince

"We had a great stay and the location was perfect for exploring the Old Town and sights. The entrance can be a little confusing at first — look for the Black Angel’s sign, enter through there and the hotel is upstairs on the first floor. There is only one lift serving the whole hotel, but we never had to wait too long. One of the highlights is the small rooftop restaurant and bar overlooking the Old Town Square. It has fantastic views and was extremely popular with tourists during our stay. Our room was directly underneath the rooftop restaurant, so we could occasionally hear the kitchen staff arriving early in the morning, although this wasn't too much of an issue for us. The room itself was lovely and the bathroom was absolutely huge — honestly bigger than some hotel rooms I've stayed in! The breakfast area was quite tight for space but you could locate to another area but we wanted to stay closer to the food rather then moving to one location to another. For some reason, the room was always very warm, which made breakfast a little uncomfortable but they had a good selection. Not sure if there was a heating issue as it was quite mild for the day. Apart from these minor points, we had a fantastic stay. The location is excellent, the room was lovely and being right in the heart of the Old Town made it a perfect base for our trip. I would definitely recommend it. The only real downside was the breakfast area. It was quite cramped and extremely hot, which made sitting there for breakfast uncomfortable and noise directly beneath us in the early mornings. This was the main reason I would give the hotel 4 stars rather than 5."

"Location is unbeatable, but being right on the Old Square and virtually opposite the Astronomical Clock expect some noise. Our room was on the 4th floor - it was small and a bit dark, but kept clean and we enjoyed its quirkiness - sloping ceilings and dormer window. Bed was comfortable. Bathroom was great - full size bath and good shower. There is a lift but its in constant use with people going to and from the rooftop bar, so we used the stairs mostly which could be a challenge for some people. Breakfast wasn't great, but the cereals and toast were worth having, before setting out on a day's exploring. The breakfast room was very warm! Staff were efficient, with Dhanula - the night shift receptionist - being the standout individual. He was always cheerful and helpful even when we were checking out at 6.30am! Overall, good value and we shall stay there next time we are in Prague."

"Although we didn’t stay at the hotel during our three day stay in Prague, we were recommended to visit the rooftop restaurant. We were certainly not disappointed, the food was excellent and the restaurants rooftop views across the square were stunning especially on a warm evening when the sun was setting. If you visit Prague don’t miss out on this experience!"
