A chic stay in an area known for great restaurants
On the east side of the Vltava River in Prague’s New Town (a touch south of Old Town), Mamaison Residences’ crisp, clean lines give this hotel a modern appeal, and large windows make the rooms light and bright.
Start your day with a buffet breakfast served in the lobby. If the sun shines, take it out to the courtyard terrace, or if you’re visiting in winter, see if you can find a seat by the fire. While there’s a bar and shop selling drinks and snacks 24/7, it’s a relatively simple offering, so you’ll need to head out of the hotel for dinner. But a lack of a restaurant is no trouble when you’re staying in an area renowned for its dining options. Just ask reception for the best places and the latest openings.
Descend from the lobby to a hidden wellness area where there are saunas, a whirlpool, a relaxation area, and massages on offer. There’s also a gym, yoga space, and even a games room with ping pong, pool, foosball, and a games console.

What Mamaison Residence Downtown has to offer
Public transport
The Muzeum metro station is just a few minutes’ walk away, right next to the National Museum and Wenceslas Square. Alternatively, you can hop on the tram – it’s an excellent way to get over the river to Prague Castle, one of the city’s must-see sights with spectacular views.
National Museum
The vast National Museum is reachable within a 10-minute walk from the hotel. Here you can spend hours wandering around the natural history and pre-historic exhibitions, including a huge fin whale skeleton. There are also plenty of other informative areas to explore here, from Czech history to a dedicated children’s area.
Old Town
Leave your base in New Town behind and walk directly north for about 20 minutes to Old Town, where a maze of cobbled streets brings images of classic Prague to life. This is where you’ll spot the ancient Astronomical Clock, a beautiful medieval timepiece on Prague’s Old Town Hall.
