Kampa Garden Superior

"We spent two nights in this hotel, booked via Mayday voucher. The positive: the location is excellent, not far from the Charles Bridge. The reception and the room were disappointing. A superior double room with breakfast was booked. We were given a room in the attic with a tiny bathroom and room with dirty carpeting and small windows on the ceiling, practically without a view, which is absolutely not comparable to the brochure pictures. Absolutely unusual was the requirement to leave a €100 deposit and the digital key to the room, which was only activated / programmed starting at exactly 2:00 PM. The breakfast was plentiful, however, as soon as you left the table to get something from the buffet, the non-empty plate including cutlery was gone from the table. I had to ask three times for a second room key, because the reader was allegedly defective. Parking is possible at a parking lot that belongs to the hotel chain for €23 per day, however, it is far from the hotel, where the shortest walk through a park back to the hotel is a few hundred meters away. My complaint at checkout hardly interested the receptionist. I hope I get my deposited security deposit back soon."

"Hotel located in an excellent position and well-maintained in its services."

"There’s much good about this hotel, especially the helpful staff (shoutout to Bigi!) The room was clean (my top priority, but the hallway carpets were stained and worn) and the breakfast spread was well up to the standard we have come to expect from Czech hospitality. Americans should be warned that there is no air conditioning (typical for most European hotels, I think.) What made that difficult is that our windows opened into the alley below and the street noise never stopped — people yelling and laughing, metal restaurant carts being rattled over the cobbles, early morning trash collection — ALL night long. Additionally, the hotel internet was very poor in our room, causing us to trigger our ATT international pass nearly every day because we wouldn’t immediately see that the internet cut out and we were switched to cell service mid-use. Bigi at the front desk kindly put our devices on to the private WIFI, but it was only somewhat more reliable. We would consider staying there again but would change three things: avoid hot summer months, pay the premium rate for a canal side room instead of the alley side, and buy Czech e-sim cards so that we are not reliant on weak internet connections. But for those issues, we would have given the hotel 4 star rating."
