"Came to visit the beautiful city of Prague to celebrate my daughter's birthday. The hotel is perfect the room was well equipped with mini bar, robes, slippers, TV with netflix capability. A traditional looking room but full of charm. Reception staff are beyond helpful and friendly. Housekeeping staff work really hard and do a fantastic job. Location is ideal right by Charles bridge and within walking distance of all the attractions. Would definitely be back for another stay. The restaurant and bar are worth a visit."

"We were given room 45 at the top of the hotel. It had a staircase inside with a double bed and a single bed on the level, next to the bathroom. All very quaint if you like these qualities. But, After 5 flights of stairs and No elevator. The last thing you want is an almost vertical staircase in your room to flop on to the bed! The round window at the front didn’t seal and allowed you to hear every passing person, tram, traffic etc all night and being on a route directly to Charles Bridge, noise doesn’t stop. At least we had Air Conditioning in the form of a great big stand alone machine that you had to climb up to reach! I won’t be staying here again, my knees are past their best."

"Slightly difficult one to write. The hotel is in a fantastic position, less than a minutes’ walk to the Charles Bridge and very quick and easy access to most places in the city. The staff we dealt with were all very polite and friendly, and spoke good English. The hotel is quite old I think, quite slim and tall. We were on the 4th floor and there were a lot of stairs to climb, the reception was on the first floor. There’s no lift. Our room was equipped with a good selection of furniture although it was quite dated, although a lot of people would like that. There was a double bed ‘upstairs’, crammed into the rooftop, and a single bed in the main living area. The stairs to the double bed were quite steep and there was only about a foot between the stairs and the edge of the bed; the bedside table was well away from the bed and the lighting could only be switched on and off by getting out. The other side of the bed was pushed up against the wall. It was enough to put me off sleeping up there, I didn’t fancy a journey downstairs to the loo in the middle of the night, so my wife slept upstairs and I slept down. Less than ideal. It wasn’t possible to operate any lights at all from either bed so it always meant a trip across the room at night in the dark. The shower was a bit of a struggle to use, it wasn’t possible to get under it properly because of lack of room – it was right up against the end of the bath. The shower door wasn’t big enough and the bathroom floor ended up being soaked every night and was a real pain. A portable air conditioning unit was in the room but it didn’t work properly unfortunately, and we ended up leaving the window open all the time. The room was sweltering. The breakfast room was lovely and the breakfast itself was ok, not stunning but not awful. There was a fairly good selection to choose from (the cold was better than the hot) and even cheesecake, which I enjoyed! The free Internet was good. The room took the gloss off it unfortunately and we were left wondering if the rooms on lower floors were any better. We think that the desire to fit too much into the space and shape available let it down. There was a lot going for it but it wouldn’t be our first choice if we decided to visit the beautiful city again. "
