Hotel U Zlateho Stromu Prague by BHG

"This was an extremely disappointing stay and absolutely not what I would expect from a 4-star hotel. Firstly, our room was not located in the main hotel building but in a separate block which honestly felt more like a building site. The area appeared unfinished and poorly maintained, with cables hanging out of the walls and visible construction elements. You can see this clearly in the photos I’ve attached. Secondly, we had booked a double room with an extra-large bed, yet what we were given was a very small room with two single beds placed one behind the other because there wasn’t even enough space to put them side by side. This was completely different from what we had booked and extremely uncomfortable. The room was cramped, poorly presented and did not match the description or expectations of a 4-star hotel. The photos I’ve uploaded show the condition of the room and the surrounding building. Overall, the experience felt misleading and far below the standard advertised. If these rooms are located in a separate building that appears unfinished, this should be made very clear to guests at the time of booking. Very disappointing and unfortunately not somewhere I would stay again or recommend."

"The hotel is situated on the main tourist route to the Charles Bridge, so expect crowds outside. Hotel is welcoming, warm and we found the staff friendly. Room 221 (2nd floor) overlooking the back of the hotel. Very quiet room, clean and warm. Furniture is dated, but with character and certainly not an "Ikea" room. Only downside was the mattress was very hard. All in all a good located hotel in central prague and good value for money"

"Hotel U Zlateho Stromu Prague Sour taste 1043102553 Very mixed experience. Location is fantastic - right in the center of Prague, at the Charles Bridge. The breakfast is excellent. One of the staff at reception was very arrogant and hostile. Two days before check out, it was offered to me that a receptionist would call Prague Airport Transport, with which I had contracted to pick me up, but then the receptionist the next day (a different person) refused to do it, preferring to call the more expensive taxi company with which the hotel has some sort of arrangement. I had a room in a construction zone in the back of the hotel - totally insecure, especially at night. (The staff admitted this to be true.) Somebody leaves the outdoor to the street unlocked, as well as the inside iron gate. A huge guy haunts the outdoor restaurant; he tried to recruit me to eat there. This guy put his hand on me from behind; I had to turn my back on him. The reception area is up a crooked flight of stairs, as is every room in the hotel."
