"This is a review of our stay at the EA Embassy Hotel in Prague for three nights October 13-15, 2026. This stay was part of a package we booked from Wingbuddy a Montreal based tour operator for an 11 day, 9-night trip to Prague, Vienna and Budapest.
The EA Embassy Hotel is a small 90 room four-star property in an Art Deco building in the north end of the city a couple of blocks from the river. The original building was constructed in 1880; however an extension has been added.
The hotel is on Petrska Street conveniently located in an area close to several restaurants and cafes within a few minutes walk. There are two major shopping areas close by, Na Porici street a couple of blocks south and Revolucni Street to the east. In addition, the Florenc Metro (subway) and tram stop is less than a 5-minute walk away.
The hotel is also conveniently located to and within walking distance of the Old Town and many of its attractions including the Old Town Square, and the Charles Street Bridge
The hotel serves a buffet breakfast daily, and there is a spa with hot tub and sauna available for a nominal cost to guests. There is also a bar off the lobby and several meeting rooms. There is also a central atrium with several rooms facing into it. A couple of tables and chairs are here, and aside from mealtimes smoking is permitted. Apparently there is parking available nearby for a cost.
We were originally supposed to arrive in the morning of the 13th, however delays to our flight meant we didn’t arrive in Prague until after 1500h. This meant that when we checked in our room, number 315 was ready. Our room was already prepaid including breakfast and no deposit on our credit card was requested. We did have to pay the local hotel tax which was slightly over $20.00 Canadian for the two of us for three nights. Checkout was also quick.
The room like all in the hotel has been recently modernized. Like all European hotels it was compact by North American standards but well laid out and sufficient for our needs.
Interestingly there was no key or key card. Instead, we were given a combination on a card that had to be entered to gain access. We both took pictures of this on our phones in case we forgot it. That also meant no needing to put a card in a wall slot to activate the lights.
There was a coffee maker, a mini fridge and an electric safe large enough to store our valuables. There was plenty of closet space with wooden hangers and a few drawers. There was a smart TV on the wall with remote and the room had unlimited WIFI for several devices which was reasonably fast. There were several plug outlets including one either side of the bed and another on the desk above the drawers and min fridge.
There were two twin beds pushed together to form one large King size one with thick duvets. Extra blankets were available. The mattress and pillows were fairly firm and I had no issues. The window overlooked an alley to the east of the hotel and there was no balcony.
The bathroom was small but well laid out aside from limited counter space near the sink to store toiletries. Shampoo and body wash in pump bottles were provided and there were plenty of towels. There was a tub with a shower attachment. It took a bit to figure out the controls of the raid head shower attachment; however, we never had any issues regarding water pressure or shortage of hot water.
As noted, breakfast was included and we had it both mornings. It was typical buffet with steam trays of eggs and sausages and a good selection of assorted cold cuts, breads and pastries and cereals. There seemed to be a limited selection of fruits but there were some local vegetables and other dishes. Juice, coffee and tea were also available. Breakfast started at 0700h.
The staff were all courteous and professional and those at the front desk and some others spoke English. The front desk contained a selection of brochures for local attractions and city maps which were helpful. There was daily maid service and replacement of towels as needed.
Overall, the EA Embassy met all our needs during our brief stay in Prague."
