Prague sightseeing with a nautical twist
Hotels on the river are one thing. A hotel that actually floats on it? Much more interesting. Botel Albatros is permanently moored on the Vltava in central Prague, putting the city’s historic sights within walking distance while giving your stay a decidedly nautical twist. Prague Castle and Charles Bridge are among the big hitters within reach.
The boat’s cabins take their cues from the golden age of ocean travel, with warm woods and 1930s Art Deco-inspired details. Standard cabins are compact, so think cosy ship quarters rather than sprawling hotel rooms. Choose a river-view option and you’ll wake up facing the Vltava, while larger Deluxe and Family cabins offer a little more space.
Up on the third floor, the restaurant serves international dishes alongside views across the river towards Prague Castle. There’s also a bar and, during warmer months, a terrace where you can grab a drink right beside the water. Sightsee by day, retreat to your cabin by night. Captain’s hat entirely optional.
