Nissi Beach Holidays

Secluded sun and beach fun

Boasting a 500-metre long, white-sand beach with calm, turquoise-blue water and a relaxing atmosphere, Nissi Beach holidays are exactly what sunseekers are looking for when visiting Cyprus. Nissi Beach takes its name from the bay’s small island, and offers a quieter, more low-key holiday in the Ayia Napa resort area than the town is typically known for.

Its proximity to the famous nightlife hotspot makes Nissi Beach ideal for those wanting to mix lively evenings with chilled-out days, but the resort is also situated far enough from the clubbing mecca that families, or those looking for an altogether more tranquil break, won’t be disturbed. With several historic attractions, a number of international restaurants, extensive water sports facilities and many nearby beaches to visit, holidays to Nissi Beach are certain to provide plenty to keep everyone happy on a sunny Cyprus holiday.

Your Nissi Beach questions, answered

An idyllic sandy beach with crystal-clear water, a few cafés and bars, and lush green vegetation in the surrounding area – the perfect setup for a relaxing beach holiday.
Ayia Napa is a famous destination for nightlife. But while Nissi Beach is close to the action, it’s also a secluded spot suitable for those looking for a quieter break.
With a Mediterranean climate and sea breezes, Nissi Beach is lovely all year round. Temperatures peak in June, July and August – the ideal time if you want a tan. But the mild weather of Cyprus means that a Nissi Beach holiday is an appealing option as early as April and as late as November. A spring or autumn booking is a good way to enjoy warm, sunny weather at an affordable price, especially if you prefer to visit during a quieter period.
Half a kilometre long, Nissi Beach is in a cove on the southern coast of Cyprus, a forty-minute drive from Larnaca airport. It’s connected by Nissi Avenue to the legendary party town of Ayia Napa, about 10 minutes’ drive to the east. The Cape Greco nature reserve, on the south-eastern tip of the island, is just 20 minutes away. Drive westwards and you can get to two other Blue Flag beaches, Landa Beach and Makronissos Beach, in a matter of minutes. If you don’t feel like hiring a car, you can reach them by bus.
There are plenty of restaurants offering a wide variety of cuisine. As well as local Greek dishes and seafood, there are options from all over the world to choose from.
Clean and sheltered with warm, shallow waters and the WaterWorld waterpark close at hand, Nissi Beach is great for family fun. But it’s not just a family destination. In the summer, it’s popular with clubbers who want a quiet place to stay near the vibrant nightlife of Ayia Napa. The bars, restaurants and shops of Nissi Beach provide plenty of choice when you want a low-key, relaxed holiday. There’s lots to do if you’re an outdoor type, too. Watersports, diving and snorkelling attract adventurous souls, while boat hire and swimming are more leisurely options.
You’ll find everything you need for your Nissi Beach holiday close at hand. Nissi Avenue has a range of local and international restaurants as well as shops and services, including car hire. There’s plenty of good food to try at the seafront, too, with tavernas serving traditional seafood dishes. Walk a few minutes west from Nissi Beach and you’ll come to the little church of St Andrew with its spectacular view over the sea. Just beyond that is Latchi Adams Beach – a small cove that’s great for snorkelling – and a park where you can have a picnic.
There are lots of ways to experience Nissi Beach, from family-friendly package deals to tailor-made stays at resort hotels. Budget-conscious travellers will find plenty to eat, drink and enjoy, while those in search of a luxury holiday have a choice of hotels with spa facilities, swimming pools and even a private beach. There’s no need to hire a car: the buses that run along Nissi Avenue are an excellent way to get around, and you can easily explore the area on foot. Warm and welcoming, Nissi Beach is a great choice for an affordable getaway.
The primary attraction of Nissi Beach is the beach itself. It’s known as one of the best beaches in Europe, attracting travellers who want to enjoy the beauty and relaxation of a Mediterranean coastal holiday while staying close to the amenities of Ayia Napa. It’s also a popular destination for weddings, with a range of hotels and restaurants offering great packages for couples who want to tie the knot. Nissi Beach holidays are also perfect if you want to explore the beautiful southern coast of Cyprus, snorkelling at nearby Vathia Gonia or hiking in the Cape Greco nature reserve.
