Dubrovnik’s upscale district

With a parade of beaches, cosmopolitan bars and and glamorous hotels, Babin Kuk is Dubrovnik at its most luxurious. On the northern end of the Lapad peninsula, this area also has some of the finest places to eat in the city, with a cluster of modern restaurants providing the best in European-Adriatic experimentation. Babin Kuk holidays are all about private beach clubs, yachting marinas and white-linen dining.

The half-moon bay of Copacabana Beach offers cocktails, water sports and sunset boat cruises. The shingle beach of Cava is a little more modest, and you’ll find a selection of reasonably priced seafood restaurants and bars. Further along the stretch, pop into one of the seafront hotel-bars for unmissable views of the Adriatic. Holidays to Babin Kuk feel more relaxed than those in the bustle of the Old Town, and the district is criss-crossed by verdant walkways to take you from beach to beach.

Your Babin Kuk questions, answered

Just 4 kilometres from the Old Town, the peninsula is served by several local buses – or it’s around a 40-minute walk to the centre from Babin Kuk.
This district contains some of the finest restaurants in the city. There are also several popular beach resorts that cater for water sports, swimming and nightlife.
Copacabana Beach offers superlative luxury, where you can order cocktails to your sunlounger. Cava Beach is less pricey but still sophisticated, while Lapad Bay Beach is great for families.
