"Having just returned from a week’s stay at Robinson Cabo Verde (early March 2026), here’s my summary. These aren’t my opinions or thoughts, just my observations and experiences based on my stay, exactly as I witnessed them. The weather across the week was mostly sunny with a few hours of occasional cloud. The daytime temperature averaged 24c with high UV. It was relentlessly windy both day and night which really affected the comfort when sitting outside, especially in the evening.
Airport to hotel transfer:
Directed straight to our coach by the TUI rep. The journey to Santa Maria took approximately 25 minutes.
Hotel Location:
On the beach front and an approximate 20 minute walk into Santa Maria. There’s a path from outside the hotel directly into town, along the beachfront.
Hotel Check In:
We checked in at the hotel prior to arrival as suggested by the Robinson app as to speed up the check in process upon arrival. When we arrived however we still needed to provide our passports and sign documents as usual.
Our Room - 1032:
Spacious room overlooking the gardens and they’re cleaned daily with fresh towels provided if needed. Coffee machine and pods provided however they don’t provide milk so its black coffee in the room. Both still and sparking water is provided daily in the room and there’s a few refrigerators located throughout the hotel which are stocked with bottled water for the guests to take. The double bed was two singles pushed together with two single duvets. There’s a combination of EU plug and USB-A power outlets in the room. The room had black-out curtains which ensured the room remained dark, even during the day.
The bathroom contains a rainforest shower head with plenty of pressure. There’s a sliding smoked glass door and smoked glass window separating the toilet area from the sink area. There’s no lock on the door. There’s no door between the bedroom and bathroom area meaning the bedroom is lit up should someone use the bathroom in the night.
Dining & Drinking:
The main restaurant opens at 07:30 for breakfast and 19:30 for dinner. We didn’t use it at lunchtime so unsure of opening times, neither did we use the snack bar. The food was good quality with a good variety each day. Some days were theme based adding more choice when compared to ‘non theme’ days.
Approximately 60% of the restaurant seating is outside with no shelter from the wind which meant dining in the evening was often uncomfortable, even while wearing trousers, jumper and coat. It also meant food didn’t stay warm long.
Breakfast consisted of cooked, continental and Cape Verdean options plus fruits, yoghurts, oats, coffee, smoothies and juices. We dined at 08:30 each day and there was plenty of tables to chose from in the restaurant and it wasn’t too busy.
The restaurant opens at 19:30 for the evening meal and at 19:20 there were scores of people queuing in anticipation of the doors opening. Come 19:30 people were flooding through the restaurant doors rushing to get a table inside. It was quite a scene; almost ridiculous. We opted to wait for the mad rush to finish before dining however we still ended up sat outside every evening due to the restaurant being full.
There was a separate tapas restaurant which cost €27 per person. We didn’t use this.
The main bar had plenty of space and also had a sheltered area so you could escape the wind. There was a decent selection of drinks however there was also a large amount not included in the all-inclusive package. This was the case across all the bars in the hotel.
The beach bar is sheltered from the wind and has a selection of comfortable seating which overlooks the beach and ocean.
The “No Stress” bar is small but located indoors so came as a welcome option for evening drinks in a comfortable, warm, environment.
Pools:
There’s two small pools at the hotel. Both are freshwater and heated.
Evening Entertainment:
There was a daily program of evening entertainment ranging from local acts, discos and bands. There was also daytime activities should the guests which to partake.
Sunbeds:
Most of the sunbeds around the pools were occupied early by towels. The beach had a good selection of beds each with wind breaks to get out of the wind."
