"Meg-Lozenetz hotel is one of the most unique, exquistly designed hotel's I've been to in the world. It has a very unique decadent vibe, and one can see much thought was dedicated to every detail. The location is also perfect - 15 minutes from Vitosha blvd., and most of the staff is helpful and proffesional. If not for one incident, I would say this hotel is perfect. I checked in at night, rather exauhsted after my flight. The night attended showed me my room, and gave me a tour of the hotel. Above all, I wanted to hit the sack. Unfortunately it was rather hard to stop him from talking, and when he offered me to order a drink at the hotel bar, I agreed. I took a look in the menu, all drinks were priced as they are in Sofia - 10-15 lev. But he said they have no wine, and insisted that I tried the Whiskey. I had a shot, and then another one. When I came to pay, he said the two shots would cost me 90 lev (45 Euros). This is something like 10 times the normal price for a drink in Sofia and more than the price of a *whole bottle* of some very luxurious whiskey. Even if that was the case, I would have expected him to ask if I would like to try the most expensive whiskey in the world, and than it would be my decision. I can only blame myself, I was off-guard, and didn't ask the price in advance, just assumed it would be the same as in the menu. I also didn't expect to be tricked on my first night on such a beautiful hotel. And of course, if you can't trust the staff, it is quite a problem in a hotel, where you sleep and leave your valuables. So I can't say I *don't* recomend the place, because it's just exquisite. But I also can't full-heartedly recommend it. I guess you just need to be very alert with the staff in this place."

"It about a small vintage hotel near to the centre of Sofia. The most great advantage is the place near to undrground "European Union", a safe area. Big rooms but worn in some cases. Breakfast simple. Polite staff. "

"The hotel is just a few steps from the “European Union” metro station just south of the center of Sofia. The hotel and neighborhood are both quiet, safe and conveniently located to what I must say is Sofia’s excellent Metro system (you can get almost anywhere in no time for very cheap)! I got to the airport from here in about 35 minutes (not rush hour). The bathrooms are newly refurbished and the rooms are quite large. The decoration is a bit dated (in an older Bulgarian style), but the furniture and king-sized bed were quite comfortable. They allow smoking in the building (so if this is a deal-breaker, go somewhere else). I, for one, am not bothered by it, so I found the hotel quaint and appropriate for my stay. The staff was polite and very helpful. Their English was quite good. For approximately $70, you cannot pass this hotel up."
