STAGE 12 – Hotel by Penz

"Stage12 is perfectly situated on Maria-Theresien-Straße, one of Innsbruck's most vibrant streets. The location is incredibly convenient—just a short walk to the train station, tram stops, and all the major tourist landmarks. We stayed in a Mountain View room and were absolutely mesmerized; waking up to snow-capped peaks right from our bed was unforgettable. The room itself was clean, cozy, and well-designed, and the bathroom was spotless. To top it off, the breakfast spread was extensive and delicious, and the staff were consistently courteous and helpful. Highly recommended for a comfortable and scenic stay!"

"I stayed at the Hotel Stage 12 in Innsbruck as a base for skiing in ski areas within bus and tram range of the city. Some other guests gave the impression of doing likewise while others seemed to be business travellers or Innsbruck tourists. The hotel appears to be playing a dual role: a hybrid between a normal city centre hotel and a ski hotel. I have a lot of positive things to say about Stage 12. Great location, close to the centre of town and within walking distance, even in ski boots, of bus stops and ski bus pick-up locations. Everything about Stage 12 looks new or recently refurbished to high quality. Staff are friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. I found the front desk always staffed. Breakfast was good. Nice spa area. I was given an excellent room (304), possibly one of the best in the hotel, (which is unusual for me because, since I am a solo traveller, hotels usually give me the worst room available). End of a corridor, windows on two walls, the main one overlooking a pedestrian piazza and mountains in the distance. Remarkably quiet. Great shower. Good quality, thick towels. Excellent cleanliness. Stage 12’s character as a hybrid ski / general hotel has some quirks though, and maybe I can suggest some improvements. The hotel has a ski and boot room that doubles as a storage room for bikes and luggage. It has ski boot dryers and some ski racks. What it lacks is somewhere to sit, an essential requirement for at least some skiers to put our ski boots on. Additionally, unlike most ski hotels, Stage 12 lacks a direct exit to the outside from the ski room, which means, dressed and equipped for skiing, one must exit via the hotel’s main lobby. This is worrying because Stage 12 makes guests sign an agreement to be fined hundreds of Euros if seen carrying ski equipment through the hotel. Thankfully, I wasn’t. I recommend the hotel re-word that agreement, and that it install some seating in or near the boot room. Anyway, that’s feedback, not criticism. I was delighted with the hotel and my stay in it."
