Antibes Holidays

Rustic charm meets beachside glamour

This lesser-known jewel on the Côte d'Azur has a sparkle and charm much like its glamorous neighbours, Nice and Cannes. Enclosed by 16th Century ramparts, the cobbled streets and wooden-shuttered buildings of the Old Town contrast with the glittering marina – also known as Billionaires’ Quay. The old working Port Vauban was transformed into a harbour for the superyachts of the rich and famous in the late 1980s, and is the place for fantasy yacht shopping today.

The beaches of Antibes are well-sheltered coves, ideal for swimming and sunbathing. And if you fancy living it up at a luxury beach club, you’re in the right spot. Cocktails served to your sunbed overlooking the Mediterranean Sea? Yes please.

Art lovers are well served here, too. Tick off must-sees like the Musée Picasso – set in Grimaldi Castle, where Picasso lived and worked in 1946, the giant sculpture Nomade, and the Musée Peynet, which is dedicated to the local cartoonist.
