Laid-back lodgings in the Turkish countryside
Pitched up on a couple of acres of landscaped gardens, Zigo’s Hotel is a petite hideaway that’s as charming as it is serene. Civilisation won’t be too far away, either, as you’ll still just be a seven-minute drive from nearby Sarigerme.
Days here are usually of the low-key variety – think relaxed strolls around the grounds or lazing by the pool with a good book. If you’re keen to explore the area, why not rent bikes from reception and get to know the surrounding countryside? If the coast is calling your name, point your bike towards Sarigerme and you’ll find a couple of sandy beaches with a range of water sports on offer.
Back at the hotel you can expect lots of fresh local fare at the on-site restaurant. With the likes of locally produced olive oil as well as fruit and veg harvested from the hotel’s own farm, the Italian and Mediterranean-inspired menu will be sure to impress. There’s a swish bar, too, so everything from poolside lemonades to sunset cocktails can definitely be on the agenda.
