"Returned last week from a 9 night stay. I booked this hotel after looking at the many great reviews on here and as much as we did enjoy our stay it wasnt quite as good as we had expected. I think there is quite a difference to a summer season stay and a mid October stay in this hotel and returning guests reviews!!
We arrived at 10.30pm and the receptionist was lovely, checkin was quick and the porter took our cases up to our 2 rooms. We were offered a roll with cheese as the restaurant was closed.
I had booked standard double rooms as this was all that was availble when i booked. Our rooms were top floor looking out over the main pool area with an amazing view over Olu Deniz right out to the sea and great view of the paragliders. It also got the sun all day almost unlike the swim up rooms which only seemed to get much later in the afternoon. I would choose this room again!
The room was fine nothing special but adequate, had a kettle with coffee/tea, fridge (2 small bottles of water provided each day), wardrobe with only 4 hangers in it and no shelves or drawers for clothes so my tops were piled at the bottom of the wardrobe!! Shower was great, powerful and hot. Hairdryer was very powerless so my daughter with thick long hair got 3 bouncy blow dries in a salon (Sultans) to avoid using it!
Towels were only changed every 3 days and bed wasnt made or changed until day 5 which i felt wasnt enough but this is maybe hotel policy. Dont think room floor was swept the whole time we were there. We also had to search for toilet roll as we ran out and it wasnt replenished! The corridors were also a bit dirty with black bags of i presume linen and dirty plates and glasses always lieing around waiting to be collected, this could be down to guests but it just made the place feel quite grubby.
Unfortunately the upstairs restaurant was closed the week we arrived obvs because hotel quieter but this was disappointing as meant breakfast lunch and dinner all in the same place which made it very samey and dinner then wasnt anything special!
Food was nice with lots of salad choices and different meat options. With the usual chips, pizza etc if you prefer to eat that.Husband & daughters partner had no problem filling their plates! My daughter is dairy-free and did struggle as nothing properly labelled, just said chicken with veg for example with no allergens shown but there was obviously cream in it and when we asked if cheese or butter in them etc the chefs often said 'delicious' or 'yes meat' . All desserts contained dairy so she had melon every day. Not an issue but just to make people aware!
It was her birthday the 2nd day we were there, i had emailed the hotel about this to ask for help with a dairy free cake or where i could get one, reception replied to say speak to the chef but when i spoke to one of the head chefs, he said, speak to reception. It was by then her birthday so gave up asking and disappointingly we sat in the dinng room and 2 others had cakes brought out to them by staff on the same day as my daughters birthday!!
Pool area was kept clean and plenty beds in rows although if hotel was full i think you would struggle!
The only bar is outside and at night it was chilly and on the rainy days not ideal! A couple of outdoor heaters would make the difference albeit probably wouldnt be used much but the bars along the front like Tiki Bar have them and it made a huge difference.. The evening bar lady was lovely and friendly always remembered our drinks order and a had a wee chat. The cocktails were pretty yukky, i love a cocktail on holiday but they were vodka/rum mixed with different juices and alot of sickly grenadine!! No pina coladas or mojito for example!
Theres no inside comfy seating area except reception if you wanted to relax out of your room.
The Sky cocktail bar which i was looking forward to was also closed for the season.
I had seen rave reviews of the entertainment and again i think because it was the end of the season this was a dissappointment. Only killer pool or darts through the day, no other activities at all, no aqua aerobics etc i presume because pool too cold! One team member did make an effort to chat (not sure of his name, but the taller one who wears pink shorts). the other i think said hello once and the female said not one word to anyone, sat every day at the bar or at the animation box and i didnt see her smile or interact with a single person in 9 days!!!
Sadly, returning guests definietly got much more attention!
There were shows on a few of our nights, fire show, acrobats, dancing and if not those then 2 nights karaouke and 2 nights bingo!
I had also read about a beach party on the Sunday and was looking forward to that but again it wasnt on!!
We loved the location of the hotel, 5 minutes to the top of the strip, 10 mins to the beach and i would return because of this and i think in the busy summer months things would be very different in the hotel.
We did enjoy our holiday, i just wanted to give an honest review of what i felt were the good and not so good points!"
