Marcan Beach

"We stayed at Marcan Beach for 10 days as a couple, on bed and breakfast, and we really enjoyed our holiday. For me, the best part of this hotel was the staff. They were so helpful, caring and cheerful. Very quickly we started to have our little daily routines with the bartenders, especially around our coffee. After breakfast we would come for our first coffee of the day, and the morning bartender soon knew us and our routine. Later in the afternoon we had another coffee and usually met the second bartender. We had some really nice, long and honest conversations with them. It was not just the usual “hello, how are you?” with hotel staff. We genuinely enjoyed talking to them, and these little moments became part of our holiday. Even when we were late for breakfast, there was always something waiting for us. 😊 I also want to mention the lady who cleaned our room. We had the same person during our stay and she was always trying so hard to do everything well. I have a soft spot for housekeeping staff because they do so much behind the scenes, and I really appreciated her work. We were there towards the end of the season, so the hotel was quite quiet. The hotel was going to close around the time we left, and you could see that some preparations were already happening. The staff were doing everything very discreetly and tried not to disturb the guests. Of course, you couldn't hide everything completely, but I really appreciated the effort. And yes, Marcan Beach is not a brand new hotel. It is not a five-star luxury resort, and some things, especially in the bathroom, clearly show that the hotel has had some years already. But honestly, we knew what kind of hotel we were booking and this was exactly what we expected. There was no disappointment. What we got was a relaxed place, friendly people, smiles, good conversations and a really nice holiday. Sometimes you don't need everything to be perfect or brand new. For us, the atmosphere and the people made the difference. Thank you to all the staff at Marcan Beach. We had a lovely time and will remember the hotel mainly for the people and all those little coffee moments. ❤️"

"Perfect location right in the middle of the Strip. Pool area lovely, sunbeds always available. Adult only. Bar open till about 10pm n lovely friendly helpfull barstaff. Reception good, but only place to get wifi. Dinning room plain n dull, well more like an empty canteen. Mostly continental stuff, some chips, mushrooms once n some cheese things always cold. Toaster very very slow. Chef cooked omelette or fried egg, never once seen him with gloves, never washed hands, but handled the cheese in his hands, setting fire to the pan on several occasions. 2 days out of 8 he did have apron n bandana on but always same scrufy black trousers n tshirt not professional, not a Chef. The rooms very very dated in what looks like lovely 3 story blocks, but most balcanys have palm trees infront so no nice pool views. The bathroom was very dark n dirty feel with a small Dim light not even bright enough to shave over the mirror, gaps around the vent/window. Cleaners well ? half made bed with sheet not big enough to even tuck in, emptied bin n mopped floor, not even sweeping it, or wiping sink or shower. Shower doors, shower head,taps n crome never cleaned n rusty. (We even cleaned the tap spout to give the hint lol.) Aircon unit had no fins n No WiFi in rooms All in all we enjoyed the pool area, bar n closeness to the beach n main strip. This hotel has so much potential but so much is letting it down unfortunetly"
