Majestic Hotel

"Great location and a lovely solo stay — but breakfast needs improvement I travelled here as a solo female traveller. My family were staying in Hisaronu, but unfortunately I couldn’t get into their hotel, so I booked here instead. Overall, I had a really enjoyable week and would consider staying here again. Location The hotel is in a very, very good location. It’s literally around a five-minute walk down to the bottom of the road and the beach. Alternatively, if you turn left, walk down and then right by Rose Garden, you’re at the very other end of the strip. It’s incredibly convenient, and I had no problem walking to the shops, restaurants and bars. There’s also a great little corner shop right next to the hotel, which was very reasonably priced. I believe it’s open 24/7, although I can’t say that for certain. I also didn’t find the hotel prices particularly expensive. You can either pay by card at the bar or add things to your room and settle the bill with cash or card at reception. Staff and cleanliness All of the staff were very friendly towards me personally. As a woman travelling alone, I felt completely safe and comfortable around them. I’ve experienced situations in other countries where male staff have tried to get me to speak to them privately because I was alone, but I had absolutely none of that here, which I really appreciated. The hotel itself was clean. My room was cleaned every day, the pool area was kept clean and the pools were sparkling. I never found them murky or unpleasant, and despite being there during very hot weather, I never found the pools unbearably cold. In fact, it was lovely and refreshing to get into them. The sunbeds were fine, although they aren’t particularly comfortable. It would be nice to have cushions on them, although perhaps that’s something you would only expect at a five-star hotel. The room My room certainly wasn’t the best hotel room I’ve ever stayed in, but it was very clean and I had no major problems with it. The bathroom was clean, although the shower head was broken and definitely needed a good descale. The air conditioning was excellent. It got very cold at night, which was fantastic when coming back to the room after being outside in the heat, although I did wake up during the night having to turn it off. There was only a thin sheet on the bed, so I think it would be nice to have the option of a thin duvet as well. The bed itself wasn’t the most comfortable I’ve slept on and I think a better mattress would make a big difference. I stayed in a standard room and my fridge worked without me paying anything extra for it. I’m not sure whether this depends on which company you book through or the package you choose, so it may be worth checking. The rooms are quite dated and the TV was very grainy, so I didn’t really use it. I did really like the vanity table/desk, though, and found that very useful. My room didn’t have a particularly good view as it backed onto the rear of the hotel. I did find it quite amusing that there were two chairs on the balcony when the balcony is really only big enough for one person comfortably. One thing I would definitely mention is that the rooms are not very soundproof. You can hear a lot from the corridors and neighbouring rooms. During my stay I was woken up by a baby crying, people having sex and, most frequently, doors being slammed. Obviously, you can’t control inconsiderate guests, and people coming back at 2am after a night out is perfectly normal in a hotel like this. However, I did hear doors being slammed repeatedly during the night, including around 4am, and I think something could perhaps be done with the doors to reduce the noise. Breakfast For me, the biggest downside was definitely breakfast. There was no option to book room only, so breakfast is essentially unavoidable, and I really think this is an area where the hotel could make some relatively simple improvements. I’ve noticed that breakfast is a recurring criticism in other reviews too, so I would genuinely like to see management take some of that feedback on board. It doesn’t need to be anything elaborate. Even adding things such as proper sausages, bacon and a potato option such as hash browns alongside the eggs would make a big difference. I’d also like to see more variety of bread and perhaps some rolls, more fruit than just watermelon and apples, such as bananas and a fresh fruit salad, and a greater variety of meats. The basic orange juice machine also really isn’t very nice and would definitely be worth upgrading. If room-only had been an option, I personally would have chosen it. Bar and food The bar area is really nice and modern. The bar staff work incredibly hard and the drinks I had were very good. The food available to order and pay for separately was also surprisingly good. Everything I had was tasty and well cooked, and I was impressed with it. Overall Despite the criticisms above, I had a really good stay here and think this hotel gets a lot of unnecessary negativity. For me, it was the perfect place to spend a week relaxing by the pool. The location is excellent, the staff were friendly, I felt safe as a solo female traveller, and the hotel was clean. A taxi to Hisaronu wasn’t expensive, and I could easily walk to and from the strip and the shops. I do think some of the lower-ground-floor rooms may not be as appealing, particularly if the views and balcony size are similar to mine, but for a one-week holiday where you’re mainly looking for somewhere convenient to sleep, swim and relax, I thought it was absolutely fine. There are definitely areas that could be improved — particularly breakfast, the mattresses, TVs, shower heads, soundproofing and the general dated feel of the rooms — but these are mostly small improvements that could make a really positive difference. I was also disappointed to read some reviews mentioning negative experiences with management towards staff. I personally didn’t experience this during my stay, as all of the staff I dealt with were friendly and hardworking, so I can only comment on my own experience. Overall, I’d happily recommend this hotel for someone looking for a reasonably priced, well-located hotel for a relaxing week, particularly if you’re travelling solo and want somewhere where you can feel comfortable and safe."

"We had a fantastic stay at the hotel and would definitely recommend it. The rooms were clean, comfortable and well maintained, making it easy to relax and enjoy our time there. The staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming and always happy to help, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable. The food was another highlight, especially the delicious traditional Turkish dishes, which were full of flavour and beautifully prepared. The à la carte menu was amazing, with plenty of fantastic options to choose from, and the cocktails were absolutely delicious! The cosy bar area was the perfect place to unwind in the evening and enjoy a drink in a relaxed atmosphere. Overall, we had a wonderful experience and would happily return!"

"Wow where do I start - Faulty Towers comes to mind!!! We arrived to this hotel in the afternoon for a lovely week in the sun and by the next morning was checked out in alternative accommodation. The staff were really rude upon check in laughing and sniggering to themselves about us . We was then given room 211 which I can only describe as a basement room . There was a massive patch of damp in the top corner of the room above the bed . The shower was full of scum and there was limescale all over the taps . All the tiles above the shower were covered in mould spots. The toilet flush button was broken leaving us to unable to flush the toilet . Both towels in the room were full of marks and dirty We headed straight down to reception to see if they could change rooms and complain about the filthy room . There was no manager in so the receptionist got her on the phone . This is when the mangeress started screaming at my partner saying things like we was lying even though we shown photos to the receptionist . She was really rude to my partner on the phone and said she can’t sort it until the morning until she was back in . She was really rude and aggressive on the phone call . It crossed my mind that if she speaks to her paying customers like this godknows how she speaks to her staff. The next morning we went down to reception at 8am like advised where we was told the manager was not in today by the receptionist but quickly this lady said she is the manager and dismissed the reception man(again rude) She then proceeded to say she didn’t want to look at the room as she said “it’s my hotel and I knows what that room looks like” which to the point we couldn’t help but laugh as she knew what the state of the room was like and still decided to put people in it and was complained that we was unhappy with it . She said to come back at 10am where she was show us another room to put us in . We went to this other room and yet again there was scum all over the shower head and taps , dirty soap dishes. Peoples hair all over the floor and stained bedding. When we raised this all to her as it was like this in our previous room aswell she said this is normal for the shower to have limescale and scum all over it as this is how her cleaner in the hotel cleans!!!! Overall after showing this second room we decided to quickly check out and had to sort alternative accommodation for the remaining 6 nights . I would avoid this hotel like the plague it needs closing down and a full demolishment . I have so many more photos that I can post and will not stop until I have a full refund from this heath hazard of a hotel ."
