"Group of 6 from the UK travelling with Jet 2
Arrived at the hotel around 2am. The receptionist was very pleasant and was keen to help us
I have to say, arriving to this hotel in the dark is probably not the best idea!!
Our room was 108- on initial arrival I was horrified to find this rather dated room, which seemed to be practically in the bar area, on the ground floor. The balcony was very, very small and we were about 2 meters away from the bar. I immediately told the receptionist that we needed to be moved. He listened however we couldn't be moved that night and had to wait for the day after
The following day, everything seemed much better (the sun helped!!). I mean don't get me wrong , the balcony wasn't used once in 10 days apart from putting wet towels on to dry ( and we are normally massive balcony people) but the view of the mountains, plus potential upheaval made for a change of heart- we remained in that room
My daughter had room 102 which was also ground level, backed on to the garden area , with large patio doors and a ladder close by to the main road- she felt unsafe and therefore they accommodated a move for her ; to a much better room on the 2nd floor of the hotel
The rooms, and lack of balconies is probably the main downfall of this hotel; there were rooms far worse than ours (which were again ground floor) where the balcony faced a wall, and where the cleaning staff smoked! I would not have been able to stay in those rooms, so hats off to those who did
Moving on from the rooms, which whilst are outdated, do have really decent showers and aircon.
We stayed bed and breakfast which was more than adequate and served from 8am- 10am- particularly liked the egg station where you could get omelettes, fried eggs, pancakes and scrambled eggs. There is no resemblance of an English breakfast (for those who do like that!)
The jewel in this hotel's crown (and the main reason we would consider going again) is the pool area. Has plenty of sunbeds- you could go down at any time of day and have a sunbed- no sunbed wars which was liberating!!. The pool was a lovely temperature with inflatables, balls being allowed in. For families with small children there are no lifeguards and the middle of the pool is deep. The pool was lovely and warm and we spent many hours in there. For ladies with dyed hair- I have bright red hair, it did bleach the ends of my hair white!!!
The pool area is probably one of the most relaxing ones I have ever been to; music at a reasonable volume (all tastes catered for) and a well-stocked bar. The bar and waiting staff are brilliant and don't stop cleaning.. Infact sometimes they are a little overzealous!!
The hotel prefer that you keep a tab with the bar, I just paid cash as I went, which they were fine with. The iced coffees are the best I have ever had- Starbucks could learn a few lessons from here! We had food a couple of times, which was okay.
On your last day they do have a shower room and you can "hire" a towel for 50tl- the shower room is boiling and slippy- be prepared!!
To make this hotel perfect, they really need to think about where they are putting guests who are staying 7 days plus; as far as I could see, the package holiday guests tended to be put in the ground floor rooms with poor location and balconies, with those staying 1 or 2 nights the larger, more modern rooms with decent balconies- make that make sense!!? I had emailed prior to going there, asking for a room not on the ground floor but it was totally ignored. The other thing which should be removed are the "rules" in reception area- They suggest that if you get makeup, hair dye, tattoo ink on bedding and towels you will be charged!! I spent every shower, worrying that I would get any of my hairdye on their precious bedding!! Thankfully I had taken a dark pillow case and hair towel with me . They also suggest that if you are seen bringing your own food or drinks into the hotel you will also be charged!! we weren't additionally charged for anything
The highlights are the pool, bar staff , waiting staff and location
The hotel has got a great location- literally 2 min walk to the main strip of olu-deniz, which when looking at other hotels they were a long way from the main area of olu deniz
If we could be guaranteed better rooms, we probably would go back; if not, the jury is out to be honest"
