Rhapsody Hotel Kalkan

"Our second visit to Kalkan in 2026 and probably our twelfth visit overall in the last 10 years, this was our first time in this hotel. It’s situated just off the Kalamar Road and it’s around a 15/20 minute walk into town. The quoted airport distance on the Trip Advisor page says 47 miles to Dalaman, 47 miles it is not !!! In fact It’s nearly 80 miles and 2 hours by private transfer. All distances quoted are wrong, it’s probably only right if you’re going as the crow flies but otherwise you can safely double them ! The hotel itself is pleasant enough, clean and presentable too, our room was a deluxe suite with spa bath, it was set over 2 floors so bear this in mind if you’re not ok with stairs, deluxe is a stretch to be honest, nice ? definitely, but deluxe ? no… The downstairs area where the balcony, wardrobes and spa bath are situated is very dark, there’s no lights in there so we had to use a lamp from upstairs. The provided fridge didn’t work other than to light up, everything we put in it was basically room temperature and there’s no temperature adjustment on it. The upstairs where the bedroom and bathroom are situated was well lit but again, the bathroom light was average at best. The shower head had been repaired with screws which had rusted over and it leaked like mad while running, the lack of a shower door beside the shower screen made the bathroom floor treacherous until it had chance to dry out. The air conditioning wasn’t too bad other than it was noisy so it had to be switched off before going to bed but at least it worked and continued to do so after we’d gone out for the day which means you had the pleasure of coming back to a nice cool room. The balcony faces the pool and has a nice sea and mountain view which is a bonus. The rooms are cleaned daily too which is nice and they always smell lovely due to the cleaners using an air freshener before leaving, they also do a lovely job of arranging the towels into pretty swans and they spread flower petals which is a nice touch. The provided bedding was ok, pillows were nice but the top covers were like sandpaper, we asked for replacements but they were all the same and made for an unpleasant and uncomfortable sleep. We ended up buying our own top covers to sleep under as I woke up with a rash on my lower half because of how rough the covers were, once that was sorted, all was fine. The bed itself was quite comfortable and spacious. The staff were ok, maybe it was down to the time of year and the approach of the end of season but they didn’t seem very happy, the 2 lads on the front desk were quite sour faced, they spoke when spoken to, but neither of them started the conversation and neither of them smiled at any point, same applies to a couple of the male bar staff, the female bar staff were a bit friendlier but overall, I can’t say they were amazing like some others have quoted. Ghe cleaners were the happiest, ours was great, chatty and pleasant and always smiling. The included breakfast was poor, but then I never did like chips or chicken nuggets for breakfast ! The rest was less than great, but at least there was yoghurt, fresh fruit and fruit juice each day. We only used the breakfast option once or twice and the rest of the time we ate out. Overall not a bad stay, maybe it’s better during peak season but not particularly memorable to be honest. The whole place could do with some repairs and a bit of updating and one final observation for older guests and/or those with reduced mobility is that there was no lift so heavy luggage could be a problem to all but the lowest floors, even then you’d still need assistance with your cases. Would I come back ? Maybe, but only after looking elsewhere first."

"We stayed at Rhapsody in August with another couple and had a truly wonderful experience. Having visited Kalkan three times before and stayed at Samira Exclusive, we can confidently say that this was just as good, chilled and less busy. It feels like a well kept secret! The hotel has amazing views of the bay and a fantastic swimming pool. There was no rush for sun loungers and they are all comfortable. Breakfast has most things, from cereals to breads and pastries. Our room was spotlessly clean, comfortable, and equipped with everything we needed, including complimentary air conditioning and a safe. The location is excellent, situated a short walk from the town centre, making it peaceful and relaxing while still being conveniently close to all the amenities. Kalkan is an expensive resort but we found the hotel to be good value for money. The food and drinks from the pool bar and restaurant were consistently good quality and reasonably priced. I have to mention the pool bar staff, they are incredible. Soliman, Yaren and team (apologies for the spelling) really made the stay exceptional. Thank you."

"This was one of the three hotels I considered in Kalkan. I chose it based on reviews because safety and cleanliness were my priorities. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Kalkan is apparently a bit hilly, but the hotel's location was close to markets, pharmacies, etc. We drove there, but I think you can walk to the beach and the market. The breakfast system was excellent; they informed you when it was almost time to clear out your plate. You won't go hungry, but I recommend taking only as much as you'll eat. The room was exactly as pictured. What caught my attention (as someone who works with elderly people) was the absence of sharp edges. The sink had rounded edges. Also, probably to give the room a sense of depth, the toilet was right next to you – on the right – and surrounded by frosted glass. Since we were a family, this wasn't a problem. :) In short, we left satisfied. It would be a good choice again."
