"My husband and I had the pleasure of staying at the Lures for 10 days in Sept 2026. Positives on this hotel: We stayed in a penthouse room with a jacuzzi on the balcony, both the room and the balcony were incredibly spacious, we found the bed incredibly comfortable (both my husband and I have back issues and I had surgery a few months ago and I’m still in rehab), this bed didn’t aggravate our backs or my surgery site at all, in fact, I’d say it was one of the most comfortable beds I’ve slept in. I liked the air conditioning unit situated above the bed but others may not appreciate this. For me it helped to drown out the noise of my husband’s snoring! The room was incredibly clean and we found the room to be in a quiet area. The only outside noise we heard was the hotel buggy/golf cart as it beeped whilst reversing. For those who are not very mobile, this buggy will be a godsend due to the amount of steps and the gradient of the hill this hotel is built upon. I counted roughly 200 steps from the beach club area to our room, everyday is legs and bum day if you choose to walk from the restaurants, swimming pools or beach club area. We also made use of the gym, spa and indoor pool, where nothing was too much trouble for Mehmet, again, couldn’t fault the cleanliness. The Hamman treatment is definitely worth booking. Breakfast was a combination of buffet and al la carte, the veg omelettes are lovely, as is the yoghurt, honey and various fruits. I’m a bit of a health freak so even on holiday I try to eat clean. We chose to dine at the hotel on our first night, the food was divine and the staff were attentive without being too overboard. In general, we found the staff friendly and helpful, and had fun trying to learn Turkish with their help. Negatives: The beach club is open to non hotel guests, which can lead to a lack of sun loungers. On more than one occasion, my husband and I found that non hotel guests had reserved sun loungers to the detriment of hotel guests. It’s worth stating that there is an area for hotel guests only, but in reality, non hotel guests were also using this area. Likewise, the complimentary water taxi, the best way to travel into Kalkan, is supposed to be for hotel guest use only (well, that’s what we were told). However, we found non hotel guests using this service, again to the detriment of hotel guests. A couple of times, my husband and other hotel guests, had to pay for a taxi, which for us wasn’t a problem, but it does grate as a matter of principal when a service for hotel guests is commandeered by non hotel guests that aren’t supposed to be using it. If it wasn’t for these minor irritations, I’d have given the hotel a 5* review. If you’re wanting a beach holiday, this isn’t the hotel for you. There is no beach. Instead, the hotel has decked areas with steps into the sea and it’s quite deep, you can’t touch the bottom. So if you’re not good at swimming and like to be in the sea, bring floatation devices. Personally, I liked the lack of beach but appreciate this isn’t for everyone. All in all, we loved our time at the Lures, This is one hotel we’d go back to and we never holiday in the same place more than once."
