"We have just completed an idyllic, restful break at Saray Suites hotel in Kalkan and this is the first time I have ever been moved to write a hotel review, so I am completing it now as we wait for our transfer. What can I say?
This is a lovely hotel which is very comfortable and adds little touches of luxury to make your experience special but not intimidating or pretentious. It is not pristine by any means but it adds to the charm and ease of your stay. Our room was an upgrade to a beautiful rooftop suite, which took our breath away on arrival and allowed us to enjoy spectacular views and sundecks including a lovely jacuzzi, which we enjoyed a few times. The bed was very comfortable and the room was cool with the reliable air conditioning which was essential in the blistering heat.
Breakfast was an a selection of lovely fresh foods, cold and warm, and the omelette bar was a nice touch. We enjoyed some light bites in the One restaurant and everything was tasty and fresh. The views from the restaurant are breathtaking and the sound of cicadas and the call to prayer just made it so chill and relaxing.
There are some beautiful garden suites with private pools but the main pool was a lovely size and there was never the usual fight for loungers. The water was warm and there were plenty of parasols.
The highlight Saray Suites is undoubtedly the staff. You could not ask for friendlier and more attentive staff, nothing was too much bother and they genuine seemed to really enjoy working here. The same friendly faces welcomed us at breakfast each morning and ensured that we had refreshments by the pool and served really nice food at the restaurant too. A particular mention to Orhan, who gave me to have some lemon and mint tea when I appeared at breakfast with a lost voice and sore throat. He then popped out to the local shop to buy me some mint sweets to ease my discomfort. That is the level of service and care you get here. Everybody genuinely cares and it shows. We have had the loveliest time Kalkan and the hospitality shown by the locals, and the hotel in particular, have made it really special. We really do want to come back again one day."
