Milky Way Hotel & Apartments

"I recently stayed at Milky Way Apartments for a solo trip and overall had a good experience, rating it a solid 4 stars. It’s a well-run, peaceful property with a clean, well-maintained pool (around 25°C with good sun loungers and shade available for guests) and a pleasant bar area (pints priced at a fair £4). ​The Positives: ​Rooms & Facilities: My room was very comfortable and cleaned every single day. The Wi-Fi was strong, particularly around the breakfast area. ​Breakfast: An ample breakfast was included in my EasyJet package deal, which added good value to the stay. ​Location & Transport: Perfectly positioned. There is a dolmuş bus stop right outside on the main road, and if you walk a few hundred yards downhill, you’ll find Migros and A101 supermarkets. Getting around is exceptionally easy—you can simply tap your Starling card on the bus machine, and for 90p or less, you can easily reach Ölüdeniz, Hisarönü, or Fethiye (where I had a lovely rotisserie chicken meal for just £6). I always felt completely safe exploring the area as a solo traveler. ​Excursions: I booked a brilliant six-island boat trip from Ölüdeniz for just £20. Local agencies like Chillax or Focus Travel are great for booking trips. ​Areas for Improvement / Shortcomings: ​Communication & Arrival: The owner and staff struggled with English, and the owner mostly kept his distance, leaving guests to their own devices. There was no welcome water or tea supplies, just an empty kettle in the room—tough after a long journey when you just want a drink. It would be helpful if management provided a facility information printout for guests. ​Maintenance: There was a problem with a flickering light in my room that management failed to rectify. I had to resort to turning off the electricity via the fusebox myself. ​Logistics & Food: The EasyJet rep promised failed to turn up. On-site evening meals were priced at £10, but they didn’t look appetizing at all. Also, note that Turkish prices generally are not as cheap as they used to be. ​Departure Policy: Typical of many hotels, checkout is strictly at noon. When I needed to stay until 6:00 PM, I was charged £30 for a late room. A bit more flexibility—or offering a courtesy shower facility for a smaller fee—would have gone a long way instead of feeling like a cash-grab at the end of the trip. ​Verdict: Would I stay here again? Yes, definitely—just as long as that flickering light is sorted out! It's a great, safe, and peaceful base for solo travelers or budget-conscious visitors who manage to grab a good deal, provided you know what to expect."

"Recently had a lovely stay at the Milkyway. What a chilled out, relaxing place to be. Happy staff, nice food and in a good spot. I can see why lots of holiday makers return year after year. The only one thing I would comment on is that an upgrade of sunbeds & brollys is required! 🙂"

"We booked a deluxe room through a holiday platform, but they gave us an apartment. The bedroom light was not on. The air conditioning was very, very inadequate. The cleaning was inadequate. There were two sofa beds, and they were completely worn out. Unfortunately, it was very, very bad."
