"My wife and I and our 14-year-old son recently stayed at The Bright House Apartments in Dalyan for 14 nights in August 2026. It’s our third time back to Dalyan and the Brighthouse accommodation was by far the most modern and that’s’ why we chose it.
We opted for the 2-bedroom apartment on the 2nd floor which had a lovely size balcony. All rooms overlook the pool area. The accommodation was really lovely, and we had air conditioning in all rooms and fantastic blackout blinds on every window. We didn’t cook as we like to eat out, but we did use the kitchen for preparing some breakfasts and it had everything we needed. There wasn’t a toaster, but you could ask for one.
The apartments are outside Dalyan’s main centre, so an accurate walking time to the first mini supermarket is 8-10 minutes and then another 10 minutes to reach the mosque in the town centre. A total of 20 minutes from the Brighthouse to town. Once you reach the mini market you are pretty much at the start of a high street that leads you into town and this has various shops, cafes, restaurants and other supermarkets including Migros, BIM and A-101.
As it was very warm, we decided to hire an electric scooter for 13 days and this cost us £130. It was the best thing we did as it allowed us to venture in and around all the side streets and discover so much more than you can just by foot. Also in the high temperatures it means you can not get so hot and feel the breeze as you drive around. The Brighthouse let us charge these every 3 days in the carpark at the back for free.
We also did some laundry whilst we stayed in the Bright House and this cost 300 turkish lira which is about £5. This was for a wash only and we just dried the garments in the balcony which has a small washing line. In the warm weather they dried in no time.
There is a lovely pool with about 14 sunbeds around it. As it was August it could be difficult to get a sun bed, however it changed every day and people had different plans so it was rare not to get a lounger. There is a small building around the pool garden where you can grab a drink from the chiller and let them know and they will add it to your room. The prices were just like the supermarkets. The rooms were spotless and the beds were very comfortable.
Our flight home to Birmingham was not until late on Saturday evening and they allowed us to keep the room until 7pm right up to the moment our transfer arrived so we had the room all day and made the most of that day in Dalyan. This cost us £30 and we felt it was worth every penny.
It’s hard to find any negative points to be honest, other than our shower hose pipe was broken when we arrived and they never came in the room to fix it despite telling them 3 times. In the end we did our own repair but I feel sorry for the next person coming in. We felt the outside area lacks a garden where they could have additional sun loungers. The pool area is very condensed and when you lay on the sun beds you immediately look into all the rooms and balconies so it can feel a little uncomfortable. We found a mixture of pool time and beach time made up for a great balance.
We also hired a car for 1 day from Europcar and went to the Toparlar Waterfalls and arrived by 09:30am. This was fantastic and we were the first there and first to get in the waterfalls. It didn’t start to attract more people till about 11am.
The Beach at Iztuzu which is the turtle beach is fantastic and just miles of golden sand with no hotels in sight. The fastest way to the beach if you don’t have a car is by the local bus known as the Dolmus. From the town centre it was £5 return and takes just 20 minutes. The Bus brings you in at the opposite end of the beach to where the turtle sanctuary is located. This end of the beach is cheaper for refreshments and sun beds if you want them. If you travel by water taxi from the town centre it’s beautiful trip and well worth doing, but this cost was 1500 lira which was £23 return for 3 people.
This can take up to an hour as they won’t leave the river side until the boat is full. The journey takes you past the tombs which is fabulous and arrives at the more tourist end of the beach where many boat trips head.
All in all a superb holiday and we discover new things each time we go. Our evening meals could range from £40 for 3 people up to £95 depending on where we decided to eat, or what we decided to eat. You have so many choices."
