"Amazing trip! We chose Susona as we were visiting the Greek isles and Bodrum and after staying in the city, wanted a luxury stay for a week or so to relax and recharge! It was just opening after the off-season (we were actually the first guests of the new season, arriving on opening day). We initially were a little nervous when booking as we knew it was just reopening and were not sure how ready they would be for guests. But when we reached out to ask some questions, the brilliant Hakan was so responsive, as was Baris, that it immediately put us at ease. On arrival, we met Hakan and Baris who were just as welcoming and helpful in person, and also had a tour of the property with the hotel's fantastic concierge, Engin, who also took care of any and all requests during our stay, going above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed at all times. Obviously as the hotel was just opening, some of its main restaurants and bars were not open yet, but we did not even notice that at all because the food at the Ezi resturant was delicious (shout-out to the great cooks who accommodated all of our special requests and made every dish we tried taste so great) and the drinks (made by the talented bartender Nehir) were absolutely amazing! The hotel has another famous bartender who we only saw one night but was also very generous with his time and drink creativity skills). Erkan (resturant manager) and Abdurahman who hosted and served dinner in Ezi were great, helping to explain some Turkish dishes that were new to us, recommending specialties and new drink combos, and ensuring we felt like royalty every night. Breakfast was a particular standout, partly because of the huge and delicious food selection, but mostly because of the brilliant host, Ali (one of the best breakfast hosts we have encountered in our travels!) and his trusted, polite and welcoming server, Veysel. They were so good that after the first couple of days of taking our orders, they had our coffees and juices and favorite table ready for us before we even sat down, bringing a smile to our faces every morning! We chose the all-inclusive option and found it to be a great value for money. We are Hilton Diamond members and the hotel did a great job of recognizing that and gave us an upgrade on arrival to an amazing room. We know that if it was a much busier time of year that an upgrade may not always be possible, but the whole team go above and beyond at all times and we are 100% sure that if it is within their power to do anything at all to make a stay better, they will do it! Another thing that struck us, and is not always mentioned by folks, was the attention to cleanliness around the resort, and especially the housekeeping in our room. Everyday our room looked brand new after housekeepings visit and was spotless, and we had a lovely turndown every evening with a nice bedtime amenity. Little things impressed us - on the second day, we asked for (and received) a particular tea in addition to the various luxury teas they provide in each room, and housekeeping ensured we had that specific tea in our room every day of our trip after that. We want to thank the General Manager Volkan for coming to greet us at check-in and throughout our stay to ensure everything was as we wished. Volkan is an energetic GM that obviously cares a great deal about his guests and meeting their needs. The team he has assembled at Susona set a very high benchmark for luxury in the area, and every one of his team we engaged with (including receptionists at check-in and check-out, bell boys etc. - we forget some names but all were great) helped make this an amazing trip. A lot of people talk about how they travel a lot and what was good or bad about a place they stayed at compared to other trips. Our measure is not really the place itself, but the experience with the people. In this case, the place of course helped because Susona itself is an amazing and beautiful resort, but the people are what make it so memorable.
