Family-friendly fun in Altinkum
The Garden of Sun Hotel is perched on the outskirts of Altinkum – a beach-skirted resort on Turkey’s Aegean Coast, whose name actually translates to ‘golden sands’. The hotel is around a five-minute wander from the paddle-perfect waters. You’re also just a 10-minute stroll from Lunapark, a fun-filled little theme park with rides and arcades.
Back at the hotel, you’ve got a lake-like outdoor pool lined with loungers and parasols. There’s also a kids’ pool to splash around in. If that’s not enough to keep your little ones busy, there’s also a playground and an activity-packed kids’ club. Grown-ups, meanwhile, can expect a line-up of everything from tennis and basketball to darts and ping pong. If that sounds too energetic, head to the spa. Here you’ll find a Turkish bath, a sauna, and a hot tub, as well as an indoor pool and a gym.
When it comes to food and drink, you’re well set. The main restaurant offers a buffet with show cooking for breakfast, lunch and dinner. And then there’s the Magnesia à la carte eatery, which is open at dinnertime. You’ll also find a snack restaurant by the pool, which also serves drinks. Come sundown, relax in the lobby bar, or watch the entertainment at the amphitheatre.
