"We stayed here as a family of 12 as an affordable all round holiday.
Room: we upgraded our room to sea view and stayed in room 1271. The view was lovely, view of the lobby bar, pools and of course the sea. The balcony was not big but nice. The rooms were slightly dated which we expected, but clean throughout. They had a fridge, tv, kettle with tea and coffee. We had a double and a single bed, the room felt very spacious for just the two of us. We had large sink and shower space. We couldn’t fault the room. We also requested to be nearby to family which they accommodated. Some rooms could be further away this room was near to a lift and easily accessible to the other facilities. Our room was made up daily with fresh towels and we had a lot of water put in daily.
Food & Drink: The buffet has a lot of choice, I did see similar things throughout the week however there was also regularly new things. If you were staying for longer than a week I imagine you could possibly be bored. Myself and partner are foodies and always like to try new things. HOWEVER if you are British and like the more plain British food, you will struggle as they are not catered to a British palette. There is no english breakfast options and there is not many English options at dinner. I would never care about this however a couple members of our family are not the most adventurous eaters and did struggle at breakfast and had the same for dinner pasta pizza etc. However I’m a foodie and love trying different food, the whole fish they regularly had was great.
Top tip-eat at the back of the restaurant outside by the sea, less busy, yes it’s further from the food but MUCH more relaxing.
The buffet area was like how the reviews are saying. Crazy busy, rude guests and every man for themselves. There needs to be more staff giving orders. It would help if you could assign your table when you enter the buffet area rather than it all just being a free for all. We did find it very chaotic and very loud. Eating is the main part of your evening but the whole time I couldn’t wait to get out of there.
We never tried the Al a carte, there is two restaurants. One Turkish, one Italian. Some members of our family did it and said it was ok, abit limited in what you can have.
There was buffets at the beach side which we preferred as it was less busy and we were that end in the day anyway. They also did fresh chicken with pasta and salad which you can order 6 choices from. This was called the chicken hut by the beach. This was good.
The drinks were hit and miss. They had 6 cocktails to choose from and they were different in strength each time you had. I had them and just rum and cokes. I did try to have some pina coladas and strawberry mojitos but they did not want to make as it was not on the menu. We had Prosecco too, sometimes good sometimes not. All abit inconsistent if you are someone that likes more than just beer. Also there was almost certainly always a queue at each bar. There was never enough staff on and due to the rude guests there would be a regular attempts at pushing in the queue. Staff did not enforce the queues enough.
Facilities/entertainment: they had a lot of pools. The main pool where the pool bar is, is VERY loud. To the point where you can’t have a conversation with each other easily depending on where you sat. What made it more difficult is that it was Turkish/foreign music all day long. Not one English song. Which I don’t mind but it would be nice to switch it up and cater for other guests. (This is very consistent with other reviews). At this pool they did the regular pool activities also.
The pools by the beach is where we spent most of our time. A mix of music Turkish and English. By the beach there was 3 pools, one with amazing kids slides, this was great for our kids in the party. At the bigger pool there was more activities. These pools were quieter and easier to relax at.
By the beach you can also sunbathe on a pier and also on the beach. I never went in the sea but bring sea shoes as it can be fairly stoney in the shallow end apparently.
Around this area is an arcade, the theatre and another stage. This was where it was lively in the evening. The mini disco, theatre show then the adult disco.
The issue with entertainment was that nothing started until fairly late. The mini disco started at 21:30. Before this there is nothing, didn’t matter that much to us as we don’t eat early. So 21:30 mini disco, 22:15 theatre show. And then if you didn’t want to go to the theatre they’d do live music at the pool bar, but again most of it would be Turkish with occasional songs in English. If you wanted to come here after the theatre this will be busy as a lot would have the same idea, so not many seats.
They had a spa which you can bargain easily, we managed to get an hour full body massage with face massage & mask for 40 euros! So do bargain with the staff that come round for that.
They had a few shops souvenirs, food and snacks etc. That was convenient. They also had a gym that my partner used. Bring euros as most things are priced in euro in the hotel.
One note concerning facilities is there is some health and safety concerns. The mini disco is on a very high up stage, not the best for little ones. A lot of the stairs around by the pools have no hand rails and of course can be wet on the floor.
Location: there was Irish bar and a few markets within 20 min walk away, I never went there personally. But some of my party did which they enjoyed. We visited a couple restaurants which were lovely in alanya. Green beach club-amazing!
Overall it’s a great hotel and is great for families due to the water slides and loads of pools. However things could improve. The main thing that lets it down is it very much caters to European guests, mainly Russian guests. The guests of the hotel were insanely rude and created a chaotic atmosphere. More staff is needed for less queues for drinks and in the buffet area to calm it down. However the hotel was very clean and we loved our room.
I wouldn’t come here again as a couple as we don’t have kids. And I found it too chaotic in the buffet area and the guests were too rude. It needs to cater to everyone that uses the hotel. It wouldnt be relaxing as a couple"
