"We spent a week in this hotel
Not quite the age group for this hotel, we are in our 60s , average guest age is probably around 30.
POOL:
Not wanting to complain, but there was loud dance music around the pool area all day .
Always found a sunbed but shading was a bit of a problem the pool bar has table and chairs in the shade but they get tidied away at 5pm.
Pool area is clean and kept clean by staff.
BEACH:
We used the beach bus once to get to the beach, but walked the short distance to and from the beach on a regular basis.
The beach is nice and clean, sunbeds mostly under cover.
The water was warm and no stones as I read on a review on here, no idea where people encountered stones, so the beach was lovely.
Beach restaurant offers some burgers and salads and some Italian dishes, food is ok, nothing spectacular though.
We only drank water and beer there, the restaurant/bar is set in a lovely area and garden. Furthermore there are showers, taps to clean your feet and changing areas and also toilets next to the beach restaurant.
HOTEL ROOM:
The rooms in the hotel are modern , our room was a bit tired looking and the first 3 days we must have had a cleaner who was not cleaning the room properly nor filled up the water in the fridge, cleaned the coffee mugs, nor cleaned the floor etc. Very disappointing!
This improved on the fourth day when we had another cleaner who did a great job!
Clean room, fresh bedding and towels, even a shower mat which was not supplied previously. Soap dispenser refilled, fresh coffee, milk, water, fizzy juice and a lovely smell in the room which outweighed the sewage odour we experienced the first few days coming from the drains and toilet.
Our room had a sea view, but you need to look for the sea to find it, Was facing onto a field but with a view to the right to the mountains and left to the sea.
RESTAURANT and BARS
Breakfast: food choice is good but lacking in breakfast cereals or granola and definitely lacking of fruit. Maybe an apple or a pear and some days a banana or plums, not ripe, hard and sour.
Chocolate spread and jams are not nice, but the honey is delicious.
The coffee is disgusting too, the tea is nice, though you have to find the milk somewhere on the buffet tables if you want milk in your tea. The fruit juices are in a vending machine too and taste like concentrated juice.
No water option , you need to ask a waiter for some.
Lunch is actually the best meal of the day, nice bread and salads. There is a hot food option too but it is mostly the same every day.
The waiters come round once you sit down and ask what you want to drink, but never come back if you want more.
Dinner is not nice, it feels as if you are eating the lunch left overs reheated.
The worst part is that it opens at 7pm and is supposed to be open until 9pm, a pretty short time span. If you arrive between 7-8pm , there is no seating available, it feels like a school dinner hall. If you arrive from 8pm onwards, there are many tables which are still not cleared , dirty floors etc.
But the worst issue is that no food is being refilled. Once it is gone, it is gone. You might just see empty dishes on the buffet tables.
When we asked about this, we were sent the Manager, he said that this is not true and the dinner is being served until 9pm! Of course it is but not the same food as at 7pm!!
He then proceeded to the kitchen as he was supposed to ask where the refills were. He never came back, needless to say, but within 5 minutes the empty bowels and serving plates were removed .
Hardly anything is labelled, so we had to guess what we were eating.
Breakfast from 7-10am, Brunch (whatever that is, we tried it once and there was less on offer than at breakfast) 10 am till 10.30am, Lunch 12.30pm - 2.30pm and dinner 7-9pm and some midnight food (everything is cold and dried out, most likely the leftovers from the evening meal )
Then there is a pool bar, I think it opens at 11am-5pm and from 12pm-4pm a snack bar opens which serves Italian and Turkish snacks. Furthermore there is a burger bar open from 3pm-5pm.
The only bar open all day and night is the Lobby bar . This can get really busy after 7.30pm.
The draft beer is Effes, the wines are ok, soft drinks too.
Do not get a cocktail unless you want a sugar overdose as it is made with syrups. Alcohol is weak, you will not get drunk on the spirits here.
There is some entertainment but we have not really been involved in this, nor the disco etc.
Service and Staff:
Complaints at this hotel are not being actioned. We reported a faulty shower one day, nothing happened..... had to go back the next day and report this again. Luckily there was an English speaking receptionist and we got it fixed the same day.
Not all staff can speak English: German or Russian are the two languages mostly understood and spoken here.
I am German, my husband Scottish, I usually sent him to ask for something first. When this failed, I went and spoke German and the service improved.
The bar staff was absolutely lovely, no complaints at all.
Restaurant staff was mixed, some were grumpy and not very polite, others were really friendly and helpful.
LOCATION:
Hotel is half an hour walking distance away from main bars and restaurants. We walked into Manavgat a few times, found beautiful places to eat , shops and bars
Bus or taxi to Side are affordable, a most do when you are here. The ancient city of Side is amazing and beautiful.
There are a couple of Bazars next to the hotel where you can shop.
But there is a Restaurant right next to the hotel, I highly recommend it.
We had food and drinks, cocktails, for around 32 Euros and it was lovely, tasty, fresh and we were treated so well!"
