"If you're looking for a hotel where the staff genuinely care about their guests, look no further than Iberostar Waves Averroes.
We stayed here as a family from 1st-8th July, and while the hotel itself is beautiful, it's the people who made this one of the most memorable holidays we've ever had. Every single day we were greeted with warm smiles, friendly conversations, handshakes, and hugs. Nothing ever felt like too much trouble, and every member of staff seemed to take real pride in making sure guests were happy. They made us feel less like tourists and more like friends returning to visit.
The hotel is stunning, with a beautiful reception area that gives a fantastic first impression, stylish décor throughout, and immaculate rooms that were cleaned to perfection every day. The housekeeping team work incredibly hard, and their attention to detail never went unnoticed.
The pool is enormous, with a brilliant swim-up bar, and only a few steps away is a gorgeous sandy beach with plenty of sunbeds. The sea was wonderfully warm and crystal clear, making it the perfect place to escape the July heat. There was always something happening thanks to the amazing entertainment team, who somehow managed to keep the energy high from morning until evening while still finding time to stop for a chat and make everyone feel welcome.
Some people deserve a very special mention.
Hassine and Ahmed at the pool bar were simply brilliant. They always greeted us with huge smiles and somehow seemed to know when we needed another drink before we even asked. Their humour and kindness became part of our daily routine, and they helped create such a relaxed and happy atmosphere around the pool.
Mohammed and Lofti, the restaurant managers, are two of the warmest people we've ever met on holiday. Every meal began with genuine smiles, warm handshakes, and often hugs. They went above and beyond every single day, making every guest feel valued and cared for. Hospitality comes naturally to them, and it shows.
A huge thank you also goes to Hamza, who looked after us so wonderfully in the restaurant. He would have our table prepared before we even arrived and always welcomed us with such warmth and enthusiasm. His kindness, professionalism, and friendly personality made every meal something to look forward to.
The biggest thank you, however, has to go to the Head Chef.
My daughter has Coeliac disease, and anyone who lives with coeliac disease—or has a child who does—will understand the worry that comes with eating away from home. Holidays are often filled with uncertainty around food, and finding safe gluten-free options can be stressful.
From the very first meal, the Head Chef completely changed that experience for us. Every breakfast, lunch, and dinner, he personally took my daughter around the buffet, carefully explaining what she could eat and making sure she felt confident and safe. He didn't stop there—he prepared fresh gluten-free dishes especially for her and even found gluten-free treats and snacks so she never felt like she was missing out.
Watching my daughter feel excited instead of anxious at mealtimes was something none of will never forget. She felt included, cared for, and truly special. As a parent, it's difficult to put into words how much that meant to us. His kindness turned what is normally one of the most stressful parts of travelling into one of the highlights of our holiday. We are so incredibly grateful.
If I had to find one tiny criticism—and I really am being picky—it would only be the alcoholic drinks. There was always plenty available as part of the all-inclusive package, but they felt geared more towards speed than presentation. My only real disappointment was the lack of fresh mint for the mojitos... and as a mojito lover, that made me just a little sad!
When a holiday ends, people often remember the places they visited. We'll remember the people.
To every member of staff at Iberostar Waves Averroes—thank you. Your warmth, kindness, professionalism, and genuine care made this a holiday we will treasure for years to come. You should all be incredibly proud of what you do."
