"Our stay at Placid Hotel Zurich was pleasant overall, thanks largely to the wonderful staff, who were warm, welcoming, and always ready to help. Their hospitality was definitely the highlight of our stay. However, if you’re visiting Zurich as a tourist—especially with family—I’d think twice before choosing this location. We booked the hotel based on recommendations that it was popular among Indian travellers, but in our experience, it felt much more like a business hotel than one geared towards sightseeing or family vacations. The biggest drawback is the location. While the hotel itself is comfortable, it’s quite far from Zurich’s main attractions. Public transport from the hotel isn’t as convenient as we’d expected, and getting around often required extra time and connections. If you’re planning to explore Zurich and travel extensively using the Swiss Travel Pass, I would strongly recommend staying in or around Zürich Hauptbahnhof (HB) instead. It provides excellent connectivity to the city’s attractions as well as trains across Switzerland, making sightseeing far more convenient. Overall, the staff deserve full marks for their excellent service, but for leisure travellers and families, a more central location would make for a much better experience."

"This hotel was very nice! Mostly clean throughout, a nice layer of dust on the rain shower head but that stuff doesn't tend to bother me too much. The staff was wonderful, every person I interacted with was extremely nice and welcoming! No a/c but I did ask for a fan and was able to use that for the duration of my stay which helped (it was the heat wave!). Restaurant/bar hours were kind of a bummer- not open on the weekend evenings which I found confusing! But all the food I had, including the breakfast, was great! Location is good where it's a very short walk to the tram station, however the immediate neighborhood is very industrial. I'd probably look for a hotel with more stuff immediately around it but also if I had to stay here again I'd be fine with it."
