"I was aware of the renovation the hotel would go through and became most impressed in the best way by how welcoming modern and solemn it turned out!
First things first, no need to take a taxi to the hotel, for tram lines 10 and 12 take you right to the door in 8min (5th stop, Lindbergh-Platz, CHF5) - no shuttle any more.
Parking is provided outdoors and also indoor, one level below in the garage.
The whole foyer area is now fully integrated and one feels an intrinsic part of the unit, of the flow. The sitting area behind the reception was also a great idea, especially when the weather is sunny and even on snowy days.
The lobby connects to the bar and to the brand new tapas restaurant Mozami, where breakfast is also served.
The hotel is also famous as a conference and seminar units, with a number of rooms of different sizes to hold all kids of events, including catering.
Rooms have also been modernised and the aubergine-toned walls give an extra elegance sobriety to them. TV set can be linked with your device and power outlets beside the bed even include USB-C.
It is an airport hotel and much of the sound depends on the direction of the wind, so something minor can be noticed from outdoors, despite the excellent sound isolation - even the lighter sleeper won't be disturbed by the turbines.
ALL Platinum and Diamond guests become the expected dedicated treatment, starting with a glass of prosecco upon arrival, the welcoming treat from the kitchen, free minibar and the kind farewell gift from the kitchen the night previous to check-out, really thoughtful!
Mozami restaurant offers a range of selected tapas in the afternoon and late evening and is also open for non-guests. Breakfast is pretty much assorted, with bread sorts, hot dishes, cold cuts and cheeses, yoghurts and cereal, assorted teas and two coffee machines in different parts, to allow the best flow of guests through the rooms. With the weather allowing, enjoying the first meal of the day or any other outdoors can be a very good idea, it's not loud at all.
The 7th floor holds a very well-equipped gym and a sauna, to be activated by reaching reception half an hour prior to its use. This is not Germany, so keep your beachwear on!
From the hotel one can easily reach downtown Zurich in less than half an hour, which makes it convenient for tourists.
Patience and understanding are needed when groups from all over are stationed there, be them an excursion along Switzerland or affected passengers from a delayed or cancelled flight - you can be one of them at some point in life, so empathy is welcome especially towards the staff!
