"I love this place! It has a hostel vibe but you get your own room to crash out in as well as communal spaces to work in, lounge in, make a coffee and eat a breakfast joghurt. Free ear plugs resting on my pillow suggested that the place could be noisy but I slept well in my comfortable little bed—until my neighbour, the other side of a thin wall, began a loud 6.30 phone call to his deaf grandmother in Karachi. I had my own sink and the shower was just down the hall. A kind lady had left me a keepsake of her long hair there. The loos on are marked Male, Female—and Whichever for the confused. The great thing about the Pop Up, apart from the price, is its perfect Old Town location on the grand riverbank and within an easy walk of the main station. This is a hotel for the solo traveller looking for a simple little haven. The staff were superbly helpful and recommended the nearby New Bombay Indian restaurant, which is another great find. "I booked a room for 5 nights in March. The staff were really friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. Bathrooms were also clean and I never had to wait for shower or toilet. It was a really good stay given the prices of other accommodations in the area. It was central to the main train station and much of downtown, along with other transit stops. Would highly recommend stay here if looking for a budget stay and willing to be flexible. My only downside was the hours kept by staff. Common rooms were often closed and staff worked short hours, but I notified them ahead of when I was arriving and was able to get there and store my luggage before they closed, despite being slightly outside of staffed hours."

"Perfect boutique budget stay in very central location. Because it’s central and facing the river it can get noisy but they provide ear plugs. The bedroom and shared bathrooms are very clean. Staff is very helpful and friendly. Because of the shared bathroom I was nervous re: cleanliness but everything was spotless. I would highly recommend for a short budget stay."
