"My flight to the middle east was cancelled, so I had to extend my stay in Zurich. I moved from a 4* hotel to Adler. Even though it’s a 3* hotel, I had an amazing stay there, not worse than at the previous place.
It’s located right in the old town, and very close to the train station.
I had a single room, which was way bigger than the one in the 4* hotel. The view from my window was better too (photo attached). Yes, the finishing and the furniture are not fancy, but the room was very clean, cozy, and nicely decorated. No signs of shabbiness or neglect. The following things were provided: tea/instant coffee, a kettle, a TV, slippers, a hairdryer, toiletries and even a tote bag.
No fridge or a coffee machine (as expected).
There was a radiator to control the room temperature. I preferred to keep my windows open to enjoy some fresh air.
The housekeeping did a great job. Every day I found my room clean and tidy with tea/coffee replenished.
The breakfast was simple, but sufficient, with some scrambled eggs, smoked salmon, cold cuts, cheeses, fresh fruit, yoghurts, bread, croissants, etc.
There is a Swiss restaurant downstairs. I really enjoyed fondue there.
The hotel offers free water and soft drinks in the lobby.
Finally, I had to work online, and the WiFi connection was reliable. I had no issues with it.
What you should consider before booking is a bit of noise if you are a light sleeper. I could hear some ppl at the bar next door, but for me it wasn’t a problem. If I’m not mistaken, I saw ear buds provided too.
Overall, I highly recommend Adler."
