Hilton Zurich Airport

"We stayed her for 3 nights. I will use the prices in USD for this review. The location is convenient for the airport ($25 for cab, hotel has shuttle service for $6.50 each way, but have to reserve and runs every 30-60 minutes), not so good for downtown, a 20 minute ride, expect more at rush hour, and anywhere from $25-$35 one way, Uber works best for this. The hotel staff are very good. The rooms are good sized, but need updating, the ceiling paint in our bathroom was peeling and the sink was cracked. There is a executive lounge just behing the restaurant, the offerings are so-so, beer on tap, wine, and a few snacks. It is a quiet setting, and you can take your drink right into the restaurant. The restaurant is the low point of this facility. I get that Zurich is the most expensive city in the world. Club sandwich $40, ditto for hamburger. There is an expensive buffet with food that is cafeteria quality at best with chicken curry and some sort of fish as the only two main choices. Salad bar is OK. I ordered the Swiss veal with mushrooms and hash browns off the menu, a national specialty, and it was not good at all, small pieces of cut up veal that were tough and flavorless. (The identical dish in the Swiss air airport lounge was 10 times better). There are no really convienent or close restaurants, I suggest if you go into town, eat there before you come back. You get what you get with an airport hotel, but this one was a bit of a dissapointment."

"Who is rating this property highly?! I cannot believe the ratings. This is a horrible property and I won't be staying there again. My impression is that the only reason they are still open is because of the name Hilton and their location, and the airline contracts they have - as the hotel was full of airline staff. The rooms are small, parking was overflowing and service was blah. They were remodeling the lobby area when I visited buy I'd suggest they remodel the entire building. The hotel deserves a very low rating as it's an old property and management didn't seem to be putting in appropriate efforts to keep it maintained. Perhaps the lobby remodel will look nice but the rest of the property needs redoing too. Very disappointed overall. It's a super busy hotel and a lot of smokers hang right outside the front lobby doors getting in their fix, so it leaves a bad impression before you even enter the place."

"Duty Manager Tahmi was extremely helpful with not only check-in, but helping us figure out the easiest ways to get to downtown. Would stay here again for sure."
