Overall good stay
"We stayed at this hotel for 5 nights during our trip to Switzerland and overall had a good experience! Pros: * Great location – Just a 2-minute walk to the tram stop that takes you directly to the main station, and only 5 minutes from a couple of supermarkets, which was really convenient. * Comfortable and spacious room – The room was a good size (especially compared to a place I stayed in Amsterdam) and the bed was comfortable, which made for a relaxing stay. * Reasonable pricing – For Switzerland, the price for 5 nights felt fair and good value. * Smooth check-in/out – The process was easy and hassle-free. * Useful amenities – Free use of lockers in the lobby was a big plus when we needed to store our luggage before heading to the airport. * Generally clean – The room was overall clean, just a few areas that could use a bit more attention. * Attentive and quick response to messages via booking.com which was really helpful Cons: * Tiny bathroom – The bathroom was very cramped. The shower was especially tight, with no shelf for toiletries, and it was easy to accidentally switch the water off while moving. * Cleanliness could be better in spots – While not horribly dirty, the floor and shower could have been cleaner. * Lack of furniture – Apart from the bed, there was nothing else – no chair, desk, or table. This meant having to live out of our suitcase, which wasn’t ideal. * Terrible pillows – The pillows were flat and uncomfortable. I tried to get a second one, but since there are no staff on-site and the cleaners are only around 11–3 (when you're usually out sightseeing), it was pretty frustrating. * Stuffy rooms – The rooms can get quite hot and stuffy, though to their credit, there are plenty of fans available on the 5th floor – definitely go grab one if you're staying in warmer weather. Overall: Despite a few annoyances, we had a good stay and would return. The cons are more things to be aware of rather than deal-breakers – worth considering if you're planning a stay, especially for longer than a couple of nights."
3.5 stars
"1 night stay. People complaining it’s a basic hotel, which it is. Nothing different from a uk travelodge apart from not having a kettle in the room. Room was nice and clean. Not the smallest room I’ve been in. Has all you need for a budget hotel; clean towels, tv, hairdryer, body wash/shampoo, (nice) tumblers for brushing your teeth. USB sockets and plug by the bed. Ironing board on top floor. There was no air con in the room however on the top floor there are fans that you can borrow. Beware the big metal one for the floor is very loud. Try the black table top one. However there are no tables or chairs in the room which they can easily put a slimline one by the wall. Another negative was no hanging space. Not for coats or clothes or even towels. There were two clothes hanger which weren’t removable. The bathroom could do with somewhere to hang your towels after a shower. No kettle for a drink in the morning however there is a vending machine in the lobby. Think it was around 2.50 for a coffee and 0.25 for hot water. There is a street public water fountain about 5min walk if you have your own bottle. Check in has to be exactly after 3pm as it’s self check in on a computer. They have around 10 lockers which you can store items if you want to check in/out later however when we arrived they were all full. We ended up walking around the supermarket Migos which was a couple minutes on the Main Street. There’s a tram stop on the main road as well which is a few minutes walk. Going to the centre only took 5-10min which was very convenient."
Didn’t provide the service promised
"Well the first impression was bad. There was black hair on the bed and sheet, and small stains on the sheet. I didn’t know if the sheets had been changed. The hotel emailed me back right away, and provided cleaning the next day. I had booked for 12 days, visiting my son in Zurich, and they promised two free cleanings because of the number of nights I booked. I have the email and I was told the dates they would clean. They did not clean the second date, so I essentially went 8 days with the same towel. The room is very plain with no furniture or even an end table. The shower area could be cleaned better. The price is at the lower end, but I’d expect more in Zurich."
