Central Plaza Hotel

"Location - just a 10 min walk to the train station and the Best of Switzerland tours, 15 min walk to Old Town and restaurants and a short walk to the Coop supermarket. Room - quite modest and I mainly chose it for the location as I was travelling with an elderly mother so needed somewhere walkable to everything. Opted for a canal view where the small window mainly faced a busy intersection so not sure if that was worth it. However, the windows are soundproof and I didn't hear any traffic noise with the window closed. The room has a coffee machine, fridge and safe. Service - special thanks to Mehmet. Couldn't open my safe on the morning of checkout and he came immediately."

"Lovely hotel in the heart of Zurich. I stayed in room 203, which was spacious and nicely appointed. The bed was very comfortable! I loved their soap and lotion products from the Curious Botanist. The bar had a great selection of wine and beer and a chic atmosphere. You can’t beat the location of this hotel - right by the train and the historic city center!"

"Great location but not great customer service. Overall reception and breakfast staff were excellent but as a paying guest find it unbelievable that I could not sit outside the hotel to enjoy my ice cream whilst watching the sun set. I would understand if they were busy and wanted tables for guests wanting to eat outside but it was totally empty!! We complained to the manager and couldn’t believe the response was that they had no discretion and to be honest felt they couldn’t care less. I have stayed in hundreds of hotels over the years and never had this issue in any other hotel I have stayed in. I stay in 4/5 star hotels all the time and first time had this sort of issue. Wouldn’t mind but had just had a few cocktails in the bar and now makes me feel like not spending anymore in hotel bar but going out for drinks."
