Tropical gardens with sea and mountain views

The Catalonia Las Vegas - Adults Only is a well-placed hotel in Tenerife with a tropical feel, tucked among gardens and with superb views of the surrounding mountain peaks in one direction, and the Atlantic Ocean in another. You’re in the new town of Puerto de la Cruz here, so there are shops, bars and restaurants right on the doorstep. And the atmospheric old town, with its cobbled streets and spindly alleyways, is less than a 10-minute walk away.

By day, most guests nab a lounger by the outdoor pool – a good-size rectangular number fringed by palm trees that's heated in the winter.
