"My daughter and her two children (16 & 13) and my wife and I (pensioners) stayed in two separate apartments on an AI basis with pool views in October 2025. The hotel kindly arranged for us to be next to other at our request. The hotel offer a range of other room and board options.
The hotel is well located being just off the main street with easy access to the major attractions of Las Americas including the many shops, restaurants and nightlife. Los Cristianos is within walking distance in one direction and the Port the other if you`re reasonably mobile. There are also many taxis or local buses nearby.
The hotel frontage is unassuming but functional. Reception was quick, staff were helpful and offered information and advice as necessary. There is a charge for the safe in the room. A poolside towel requires a 20 euro deposit refundable at the end of the stay. These can be changed frequently with the lifeguard at the pool.
The apartments were spacious and well equipped for a self catering holiday as well as other board options. The rooms were cleaned daily. The separate shower/toilet modern and refreshing with soap and shower gels provided. There were two twin beds in one room and a sofa bed for a further two people in the other room which also doubled as the living room/kitchen/diner. Both opened onto a reasonably large balcony with table and chairs.
We knew in advance that there was no air-conditioning but decided to take a chance. There was a large ceiling fan in each room which had to be set anticlockwise to help cool the air. We had mixed views on this system. My daughter and her children found the rooms too hot and uncomfortable requiring them to hire an external air conditioning unit costing 80 euros for the week (arranged by the hotel at our cost with an external company). This was only partially successful as the unit vented onto the balcony requiring the patio doors to be kept open. We`re not sure if this allowed a couple of cockroaches to get into her room which then led to the unit being repositioned and less effective. My wife and I found the fans adequate leaving the ambient air not as dry as some air conditioning units we have experienced in other hotels. We did however have to remind our children of the danger the fans presented after our 16 year old once stood on the bed coming close to being hit by the fan blades.
The general lay-out of the hotel is good with well decorated corridors and plenty of colourful plants and trees. The main dining room was open from 7- 10.30 for breakfast and a good range of times for evening meals. It was nicely presented with air conditioning and adequate seating. We never had to wait. Drinks were self service ( which we liked) for AI with a choice of beer, wines, water and soft drinks. The food was typical of this type of hotel with breakfast including a range of cooked food, omelettes, continental food, fresh fruit, cereals, drinks, croissants, breads etc. Similarly for the evening meals there was plenty of appropriate options to suit both local and British tastes. Food portions for show cooking areas were especially generous. We`ve never had such huge ribs which were delicious. We found the chefs particularly helpful in catering for my wife`s food intolerances and did everything they could to make her stay enjoyable. A big thank you to all of them.
Lunch time food was served in a smaller restaurant next to the pool bar. This arrangement did seem to suit some people especially those preferring to take their meals to eat outside, but it was not to my liking. Although the food was OK the setting in my opinion was lacking in quality. The table and chairs were very basic, it was quite hot inside in the conservatory type extension and drinks were self served in plastic cups- I like wine in a glass not a plastic re-useable glass.
The pool was relatively small for the number of guests but more than adequate for most users. It was quite deep in the middle and we really enjoyed it. It was good to see the “policing” of sunbeds to restrict those people getting up early to “reserve” sun beds then NOT use them for most of the day. Well done hotel. I wish more would adopt this system. We were always able to get sun beds when we needed them.
The evening entertainment programme was held on a small stage near to the outdoor bar/pool area. The staff worked hard to entertain everyone although the quality of the acts varied with some mediocre shows not to our liking and others outstanding. A particular highlight for us was the Thursday night comic/singer who was simply outstanding with a range of songs from Freddie Mercury to Andrea Bocelli. An act not to be missed.
Overall we had a really good time at this hotel and think it`s 3*+ rating from Jet2 is a fair reflection. We loved the weather (25 degrees all week), the hotel location with its good access to day and night attractions. The cleanliness and willingness of staff to accommodate our needs. It was helpful having an apartment for my daughter as this gave her son his “own sleeping space”. If we were to return we would probably opt for one of the other board options to AI as we are not convinced it represented best value/quality. However in reality we are unlikely to return primarily due to the absence of air conditioning."
