"We have just returned from 2 weeks at this hotel, and I have to say I am very impressed. There are so many positives. Here are some of the main points.
1/ Food
We ate at the main buffet restaurant for all our meals:
- Breakfast: you can get freshly made omelettes with a wide choice of fillings; well cooked poached eggs; proper bacon; delicious selection of fresh pastries; and a great selection of fruit
- Lunch and Dinner: I have a family with some picky eaters, and they always found something to eat, I certainly have to call out the roasts, including beef, with Yorkshire puddings and roast potatoes… and the lamb shank, lamb cutlets, roast chicken. They also cooked on the hot plate rib eye steak and T-bone steak all nicely seasoned and cooked to order if you wanted. With buffet food my family also raved over, including lasagne, bolognaise, curry, beef stroganoff, fajitas chilli con carne and peking duck. However, it was not all about the meat, as the vegan options were also very tasty! And you could also have soft serve ice cream from the machine… now that screams holiday!
2/ Drinks
Here they have only a few of the local liqueurs and spirits (generally used for mixers), with a good selection of actual brands, including: Amstel and Cruz Campo; Smirnoff; Bacardi; Puerto de Indias (4 flavours of gin to choose); Gordons; Famous Grouse; 43; and Tio Pepe. Plus there are some other brands to choose, and unlike the other hotel, as an All Inclusive guest they give you 50% discount… so I treated myself to some higher quality brandy, Carlos I and Gran Duque… why not I was on holiday, and it wasn’t expensive
3/ Entertainment
We went to the Berlingo lounge when the singers were on, and we were not disappointed. Amazing talented acts, including: Rock bands, Gotra playing hits across decades, and one act who focussed on just 70s rock; Tribute acts of Tom Jones, The Beatles and Barry White; and the Two Tenors. But this was just one area for music, as you always had a guitarist or piano player / singer at the Pool bar if you wanted something a little more chilled out (and if you don’t want music and a quiet drink, head to the lobby bar… something for all).
4/ Pools / Sun Loungers
There are three pools, a small kids pools and then 2 larger pools, which offer 2 different experiences, as one has music playing and is where the activities occur… and other one is quieter (again something for all). It is easy to get a sun lounger, as the main rules are enforced not to reserve them… meaning you can usually get a bed up until lunchtime.
5/ Room
Big thank you to the receptionists on our arrival, as they offered us an upgrade, even taking us to show the rooms we had booked and what they were offering us… After which we upgraded to the Golf view duplex. This room, had a fantastic view of the golf course. It was cleaned daily and had all we needed for our stay.
6/ Staff
The biggest positive of all. All very friendly and welcoming from day 1. This is across all aspects of the hotel, from reception, to food and drinks service, entertainment and cleaning. We had no issues at all. Some really went the extra mile, but to single a few out would be wrong as every one of them deserves praise.
So many positives we will definitely be booking to return!"
