"Never in a million years did I think I would be writing such a negative review about a hotel/apartment complex. I have visited Tenerife many times over the last three years and have never experienced anything even close to how bad this place was.
We have stayed at Atlantida check-in bungalows a couple of times in the past and never encountered such rude, dismissive, and unsympathetic staff. The last time we stayed here was in 2016, when the staff were friendly and helpful and the food was not far from excellent. They claim to have had a “refurbishment,” but the only thing that appears to have changed is the look of the dining area—and even that doesn’t make up for the decline in every other aspect.
To make matters worse, both myself and a family member contracted suspected food poisoning, which nearly prevented me from flying home. The food was consistently cold and very obviously reheated. Because we paid for full board, we felt forced to eat there to avoid wasting a significant amount of money—only to regret it every single day. This wasn’t just similar meals being repeated; it was the exact same food, clearly left out, reused, and rotated throughout the week, possibly even over multiple days. Also staff did not properly mind the food there was multiple occasions where my family memeber saw people of the public picking up food off the buffet touching it with thei hands and then putting it back , although this is the actions of the public , there should be staff minding the area so this is prevented.
We raised numerous issues with reception regarding the apartment. While a few were reluctantly addressed, many were simply brushed aside, accompanied by an awful and unprofessional attitude. Basic rules are not made clear at all—for example, which drinks you are and are not allowed to have with meals—leading to confusion and frustration.
Our apartment felt completely unsafe. The balcony door would not close properly and kept opening, and the main door would not shut securely, repeatedly catching and remaining open. This made me feel extremely uncomfortable and unsafe during our stay.
It is also painfully obvious that guests on all-inclusive packages are favoured, while those on other boards are treated as second-class customers. My family was told we were not allowed to use an inflatable ring in the pool, yet multiple other guests were doing exactly that without issue. Sunbeds were also being reserved with towels despite this supposedly being against the rules—although I know this is a common problem in many resorts.
Accessibility is an absolute joke. There are no lifts and very few ramps, making it extremely difficult to navigate the complex, especially with heavy luggage. On arrival, two kind members of the public helped my family carry our bags—something the reception staff showed no interest in assisting with, which is frankly embarrassing for a hotel. One of the days during our stay the hand rail was painted leaving no hand rail for what was already steep stairs with a larger step at the bottom , if you was unaware of this larger step it’s a sudden drop , with no rail this to me seems dangerous. The cleanliness of the place isn’t awful , however is not remarkable. Bags that the cleaners use to clean are just left lying around which can be a trip hazard around the narrow corridors, also making the apartment complex seem very untidy and dirty.
Entertainment was mediocre at best. Nothing stood out as particularly good, though nothing was outright terrible either. My family enjoyed the “snake man,” but this is something you can find anywhere in Tenerife and certainly isn’t unique to this hotel.
The only positive thing I can say is the location: it’s a 10–15 minute walk to the beach. However, it is absolutely not worth staying at this hotel just for proximity to places you can easily visit regardless of where you stay.
When my family member asked to speak to a manager or the owner the manager was also very dismissive and would not agree to a meeting which I beleive is very very unprofessional.
If I were to recommend a hotel, I would suggest Ole Tropical in Las Américas/Costa Adeje, which is within walking distance of Siam Mall and Siam Park.
Avoid this hotel at all costs."
