The bigger, busier town of Candelaria can be reached in about half an hour by following a pretty walk along the coastline. This picturesque promenade is lined with cute places to eat and drink, so you can stop off and refuel along the way.     A few bus routes serve Las Caletillas, and they’re fairly regular. If you plan on doing a lot of exploring it may be worth purchasing a bus card, which can be used on all routes.
    Spanish is the local language – it’s worth taking a phrase book and having a go at a few expressions, as other languages aren’t spoken that commonly.
    Most of the Tenerife coastline has black, volcanic-sand beaches, which are beautifully otherworldly. They often also feature man-made, raised areas with decking for relaxing and sunbathing.
