Hyatt Ziva Jardin Tropical Tenerife

"We stayed for a week as a family of 4, including two small children. The hotel was great and the food (we were on half board) superb. There's no beach right opposite the hotel, so one needs to walk a little further along the promenade, but on the plus side, this means the immediate area outside the hotel is quieter and very pleasant. There're also shops and supermarkets nearby. We were right above some of the restaurants and the games area, which meant it was louder than I would have liked it in the evenings, though the kids did not seem to mind. We had two connecting rooms (make sure to ask for them in advance if you're travelling as a family; we did but were still initially put into rooms next to each other but not actually connecting which did not work at all and was disappointing). The pools were exceptionally clean and the main pool is the right depth to keep most children away -- the smaller ones had a separate and very warm paddling pool to play in. Kids club was open, but very quiet and my 6-year old was not interested. There was no animation beyond live music during some of the meals (which is exactly how we wanted it) and one aqua aerobics session a day. We had a great experience overall, and it's a rare place I would easily go back to."

"Really lovely hotel - had a very relaxing stay here with my daughter. Well looked after on the whole. The only downsides are that it is marketed as a non smoking hotel but they put ash trays on the balcony tables, so of course people smoke on their balconies, and the pool isn't very child friendly as there is only a very small section of it that is less than 2.5m deep! There's a kids pool... but that's more for babies. My daughter is 11 and she couldn't reach the bottom of the pool for about 90% of the pool area - just something to consider if your kids don't want to be treading water 90% of the time! I couldn't understand why you would have a pool 2.5m deep and not allow diving either!"

"Just returned from an 8 night stay at the Jardin Tropical for my 40th Birthday & our anniversary. Having visited Tenerife some 15+ times over the years & always stayed in Las Americas or Los Cristianos, we decided it may be time for a change of scenery & after lots of deliberation, we booked the Jardin Tropical. And WOW. What a gorgeous hotel. It’s absolutely beautiful. We booked a standard room, which had a side sea view & it was clean, comfortable & the maids were in daily, with fresh towels & bedding. The pool area is lovely. Although, for being ‘heated’ the pool was freezing, but it didn’t stop us using it. The greenery & flowers all through the hotel really sets it off. There’s plenty of bars & restaurants throughout the hotel. We were bed & breakfast as we like to eat out, so the only bar we really used was the sunset bar, which we visited most nights on our way out for the night, we’d sit with a drink to watch the sunset & it’s just a beautiful little setting, with great cocktails! We sat there for most of the night one night & there was a saxophonist & he was amazing. Such lovely, chilled vibes. The breakfasts were so nice. I’m not big on breakfast, but I ate it every day. So much choice & the fresh orange juice is to die for. The location of the hotel is brilliant. As I say, we usually stay over Las Americas, Los Cristianos way. So if you turn left out of the hotel (using the bottom/back gate) Las Americas, Los Cristianos way, is around a 30/40 minute walk away, depending on your walking pace ofcourse. And if you turn right you’re right on puerto colon, with Fañabé around a 10/15 minute walk away, Costa Adeje. And honestly I think this is my new favourite location. It’s just perfect to get everywhere. There’s a Mercadona just left up the bank out of the main front entrance. Which is ideal for drinks & snacks for in the room & throughout the day for round the pool. There’s so many good bars & restaurants in whichever direction you turn. We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel & will 100% return. Would absolutely recommend. Amazing!"
