"This is a really lovely hotel in an absolutely perfect location. This wasn’t our first time in Tenerife and we didn’t need to get a taxi for the whole week (except to the airport of course) as it is very walkable, we walked to Las Americas (45mins) and Siam Mall (30 mins) and had lots of food in lovely restaurants nearby. There’s also a HiperDino right next door which is really handy for picking up any snacks / forgotten items.
Check in was really quick and easy after a bit of chaos in the airport. We were greeted with a glass of cava and a lovely gentleman helped us to find our room and take up our bags.
The room itself was nice. We booked a my favorite club room with sea view and the view was lovely. In my favorite club there was a bottle of wine and a fully stocked mini fridge included. Toiletries are fixed onto the walls and includes shampoo shower gel conditioner and hand wash. The room was very clean, there was a calima in the first day we were there which brought dust into our room but this was quickly cleaned. One thing I will note is there is a lack of storage space especially drawers in the room, we only had two. It’s also two single beds pushed together which may come as an advantage or disadvantage depending on the traveler. We were slightly worried after reading complaints about the noise however we found this stopped at 11pm latest most nights and was primarily from the hotel entertainment rather than outside.
My favorite club -
We are still undecided whether this was worth it as an upgrade for us. We were on a bed and breakfast basis and we didn’t pay lots more for MFC. I also found it hard to find information about this online before I travelled so I thought I would share the benefits it comes with. Firstly, there is a reserved area in the dining section with a bit more privacy and comfortable chairs which was nice, however I also noticed lots of people without a wristband sat in this section without being challenged. Then, there are two rooftop terraces which MFC have exclusive access to. One has Balinese beds, a beer tap and a soft drink dispenser, and the other just has normal sunbeds. These were nice as quiet relaxing areas. The main draw of the MFC upgrade is the MFC lounge area in reception. I think this idea is fantastic however a few improvements could be made. Firstly, the drink selection was fantastic. There were branded, bottled soft drinks, a coffee machine, bottled beers and various bottles of spirits, wine and prosecco. We often sat in the outside area and had a drink before we went out for dinner. The snack selection I would describe as pretty poor. It felt to us like it was leftovers from the previous mealtime. For example croissants stuffed with plain lettuce, soggy wraps with cream cheese and lettuce and various cheese slices. It was also not labelled which isn’t good for allergies / dietary requirements. The food also wasn’t out for long at all throughout the day, most of the time you’d go in and it would be empty. My honest opinion of the MFC upgrade - if you can get it for ~£10pp per night it’s probably worth it for the drinks and room upgrade, if not, give it a miss.
Pool-
The pool area was great. Not too noisy but not too boring. I loved watching the aqua gym daily. The pool bar also offers a selection of food (menu pictured) which we had at lunchtime, it was exactly what you would want/ expect and the prices are very reasonable (although the ‘vegan’ egg sandwich might need looking into!). My one complaint here is- sunbeds. Don’t give in to the Brit’s and their sunbed wars! The hotel needs to more closely police the people reserving their sunbeds and not returning for hours, especially when there are so few sunbeds available compared to the amount of guests. There are signs all around the hotel saying it is forbidden to reserve sunbeds but it’s not enforced at all. One day we were out by the pool from 9:30am and the beds infront of us were reserved with a towel from before we arrived with no one on them until 1pm! Frustrating! If you didn’t have a sunbed by 10am, it’s highly unlikely you are going to get one until someone else leaves which creates a vicious cycle.
Breakfast-
I would say the food itself is slightly above average as far as a hotel breakfast goes. There is an extensive selection of different flavour yogurts, with various toppings such as banana chips, chia seeds and cereals.
There are coffee machines, smoothie stations and fruit juices. Bring your own teabags though because they are not good!
The hot food selection has an English breakfast section with everything you would expect. There is also a section with meats, cheeses, breads and pastries. Finally there is a sweet section with churros , pancakes and sometimes waffles. I must admit I am not a huge breakfast fan but there was definitely something for everyone here.
Overall it was a really positive experience with a few minor tweaks which could make it feel even more special. Thank you!"
