"Just come back from 9 nights at the Bluesea Marina Parc. Overall a good family holiday that could have been easily better. Originally booked under the Moons Dreams name as we heard only good reviews. First impression wasn't the most welcoming from reception with little info and told no check till 3pm?? not even a welcome drink as the water jug was empty! as it was 12 midday and 32 degrees we were weren't impressed to start with as we regularly visit Menorca on early flights from BHX we have never had this. A courtesy room and secure baggage room offered however this wasn't the case the as the luggage secure was a public open space (corridor) which from an insurance point wasn't secure and the room wasn't great at all.
Room offered in Phase 3 (rooms starting from 300 on), we were offered 349 which was with out doubt the worse room ever offered to us ever! DAMP, cockroaches, rusty dirty fridge in the middle of the room and a balcony that was so dark and dirty. We requested an immediate room change as DAMP plus Asthma is not acceptable, first they said they were full but then managed found us room 147 - what a difference - the room was cool from great AC, light, big bathroom and comfy (ish) beds. Not perfect with stains on the light shades, broken ornaments but a huge improvement. I'd advise anyone coming here to request rooms from 130 to 162.
Room service is every 2 days which isn't great with a family of 4, we did request extra toilet rolls and towels but this was hit an miss.
The food at the one and only restaurant was good quality if not a little lacking in variation but perfectly edible. Wasps outside are an issue so either go early or late in services.
Drinks as part of the all-inclusive are ok with San Miguel on tap and wine boardline ok (ish), suggest the asking for the Cava which was great. No cocktails included and only selected bars are all inclusive (pool bars).
Snack bar OK but mainly left overs from breakfast with occasional burgers, again OK (ish) if desperate.
Location is about 15 mins walk to a great cove beach and main restaurants.
All pools were good but rarely had life guards so very laid back. Getting sunbeds early was easy as most go to beach or waterpark however gets much busier in afternoon.
Biggest Issues -
Overall maintenance not great starting to look very tired, lights falling out of the ceiling, tiles failing off walls, locks on toilet not working, hand drying and taps not working - all basics a good management team should be all over in a 4 star.
Cleanliness - Public toilets around restaurant and pools were very dirty and not cleaned regularly enough - if your ok with festival toilets then your OK. The restaurant wasn't the cleanest, the staff try hard (ish) and are friendly but teabags left next to the coffee machine still there 2 and half hours later is the norm. Water all over the floors in the restaurant as they don't stop people waling straight from the pool or clear up the overflowing water trays - accident wating to happen. No dress code even in evening which is nice an laid back however wet pool wear at the evening I don't think is 4 star.
Water Park is great but EVERYTHING is charged for bar water in an all-inclusive, this isn't advertised. We paid for a pizza which was lovely and fresh with only a 10 min wait - great but why should we pay? Again the toilets here were disgusting - over flowing urinals in mixed changing rooms with babies on floors getting changed.
Hotel / Reception Lobby Bar - ALL drinks chargeable at an All- Inclusive - never had this ever before.
Entertainment - Not great at all. Graham the head entertainer works SO hard however it feels like zero budget to work with.
Overall we had a good holiday and there are some really good posytives points about this hotel however it feels like its under staffed and becoming very tired, the biggest issue is the maintenance and cleanliness. It could be a really good hotel but 100% not a 4 star. Special mention to Juan the barman in the all inclusive pool bar, super friendly and works so hard as during the entertainment this bar had a huge que - Mucho Gracias. It was decent value to be honest when comparing to other real 4 stars but wasn't the quality of a Zafiro or Iberostar hotels we've used before. I would recommend if your not too fussed with cleanliness and are expecting a 3 star hotel."
