"Booked as a jet2 package so hopefully can blame jet2 & hotel as I will. First of all flight delay & partial strike at airport of some sort was due to check in about mid note but transfer I followed on my phone we bypassed our hotel and looped about arriving at our hotel around 3/4 in morning.
Now hotel trying to check in on arrival, man on desk was having trouble on his tablet, registered me, but could not add my wife and disabled daughter, so he left us go up to room, well we arrived in room and was met standing there a big cock roach near by disabled daughters bed, anyway it hid from us somewhere, so rung yer man who just checked us in, he was up prompt with his aerosol and trying to locate the pests, spraying around our daughters bed, anyway after a good 7/8 mins cock roach resurfaced and was killled. I checked room seemed all clean and nice, fancied a nice cuppa before going to sleep no milk so went to front desk again and yer man went into kitchen to get me a glass full, on giving it me he again asked could I again try and fill in details for wife & daughter…..I was a little miffed at 4am in morn, but in the end it went through obviously needs an update on tablet! Well arrived back in room and my wife was telling me our daughter was getting sick as she had inhaled aerosols that had killed cock roach anyway after getting sick we ended up getting to bed. Awoke in the morning and m6 daughter eyes were inflamed as she had taken medicine for her condition with us, we had paracetamol, anti histamine for her to take which she did, so not a good start.
Well we were up for breakfast somehow and was a little weary as our previous jet2 holiday hotel food last year was poor, well there 2as plenty of food to choose from, but quality was not great, someone on reviews stating this hotels caters for Brits/English……def BS, I like a fry up on my hols ‘English breakfast’ sort, well Bacon….was FAT Bacon, not a slice of Back Lean Bacon, Sausages were them tasteless small sausages…..English sausages they def were not. Anyway not great food or quality, lot of Bakery stuff did it look freshly cooked…..yes prob 2 days before. The bread did look nice but not a big bread or toast eater, my disabled daughter eats only certain foods, Bread/Toast, Pasta, Chips, Macaroni Cheese, Milk (no jugs of milk to be seen) and nice fruit juice mainly apple or Blackcurrant. Well she had odd glass of Apple juice, anyway, first day, I thought hopefully we caught a bad dish day. Well we went down to pool area, plenty of beds available without getting up placing towels as odd one or two had done. So was nice we hadn’t to set our alarms to do this, tho I suppose school children are still at school in Britain anyway. Well had a nice ish day by pool but noticed a large crowd coming in back gate (which leads out to public pathway down to beach) congregating in the pool at least 25/30 of them, just came in sitting in the lovely pool that slopes into water rather than steps….this was highlight of my stay! My wife noticed none had wrist bands on, so thought it very strange, and they were very noisy imo, another guest moved up to other end of pool stating to me they could not talk as the noise from these were a bit loud, which they were and my wife claims I’m a little def as well….so they were noisy!
Well in we went to have evening dinner later at around 7pm and again nothing really looked good, then at top end of restaurant there was 2 person cooking Fish & Steaks, well I like a nice steak, so I actually pointed to the steak and asked the ‘cook’ I want one of them, obviously her English was as good as my Spanish language, but pointing at it, was clear enough I thought, talking to someone in the que, my food was quickly fried and I walked away to my nearby table on sitting down my wife asked what I got I said Steak she looked at me and said you got fish, I said I pointed at beef to the ‘cook’ saying that’s what I wanted, I went back and again stated pointing BEEF, she gave me 2 as I’d requested, and it was tough as old boots, and undercooked, hence I state a ‘cook’ never a Chef, anyway not a big salad later so tried couple bits from there as I like a bit of fruit coleslaw which was available. Love a pudding after dinner an ice cream, nice cheesecake, I like my Strawberry, Rasberry stuff like that…..NOTHING AVAILABLE, of any of these, Pastry as stated looked not fresh, so no pudding for us. Well went out for a short walk after & within 15 mins I had sudden urge to go to toilet, so dived into local bar, and putting it politely as I can I sprayed the toilet bowl, it gushed out. Felt a bit better for it, then again 30 mins later it happened again, I was obviously poisoned from dinner, as it was our first day dining I had it in my head, we just had a bad day & would be better, well following morning was same as first as was dinner, plenty of food but quality….i would not give to the homeless. So I asked at desk after for manager, was told he would be in at 8am as I now wanted to downgrade my stay to Room Only, I returned at 8am following morning am told at desk Manager would be in around 9ish, I made comment he was on flexi hours and would turn up when he wanted, well returned at 9, am now told he was in a meeting and come back at 11.30 so I’m trying to speak to someone hierarchy of hotel, so down at pool again and again people coming in off the streets to I presume have a wash in pool or just sit and chat aloud again. Well at 11.30 I went back to reception and wait for manager, after 10 min wait he came out of meeting, I told him food was not safe to eat, plenty of it yes loads, but not edible I did tell him straight up I had the S…s (missing letters ‘hit’) 30 mins after we had dinner and again shortly afterwards, he agreed to downgrade, but I’d have to do it via Jet2 not him, I did make a comment I would not be expected to pay for 2 days of food that was not imo edible to eat & would want to be refunded for 2 days we did eat, he agreed he would authorise that. I also asked the Manager re the people walking in off the street using the pool, he explained the restaurant at edge of the pool and is accessible from the public path, he informed they had an offer on that if you eat in the restaurant you have FREE ACCESS to use the pool FREE, but he clearly stated to me it was only on for ONE more day….which was a clear LIE as this never happened and people kept coming in all through rest of the week, the day before I left I took a photo of board outside restaurant offering free pool access if you ate in restaurant, never saw the manager parole around pool area not ONCE in our stay we were there. Anyway off I go ringing up Leeds Jet2 and explained as I have here and they would contact hotel manager and get back to me following, I’m then saying if I miss a call will they ring me back as I’m on ‘holiday’ and won’t be taking my phone to beach or pool side and won’t want to be waiting for a call, which I ended up doing for best of the following 4 days, checking my phone, I did miss a call, and had to go through all the hassle of actually speaking to someone, eventually I think Friday poss Saturday I’m told I would be downgraded and refunded back £370 odd I disputed this saying it was for all our stay and would be around £430 mark so another delay while they confirmed this with hotel manager, anyway it was all clarified more or less whole week trying to sort it, 2 days before we travelled home. When I was actually talking to Leeds rep I am there were 300 guests and I was only one to make a complaint…..a Lie staff are trained to do, as last year I had similar hotel jet2 again in Ibiza was talking to rep in hotel reception at time, similar query re food she stated to me ‘I was first to complain’ as she said that a chap was walking past and heard her LIE, he interrupted our conversation and told the rep she was lying as he and TEN others complained before me, so as stated def trained to Lie. The chap who overheard me was a BBC employee and was on a FREE holidays as he had a similar holiday as I just had, and jet2 offered him a free weeks holiday, but he stated it was worse than previous stay he had!
Another complaint was around again Tuesday my wife went to use the hairdryer and it started to make irregular noises and started smoking, rang reception and they sent up obviously ‘odd job man’ we did ask for a plug in replacement my wife could use, which he bought up, he stated to us someone would be up later that day or following morn to fix replace hairdryer, that was Tuesday….never saw or heard from anyone after. The faulty hairdryer I turned on and it was making an irregular noise before popping and stopping altogether……lucky we never left our 30 year old disabled daughter on her own? The replacement that given to us, look at the state of the wiring….is this health & safety in Spain regulated safe?
I also read recent reviews re manager making a comment re no additional music can be bought in by guests, as he stated ‘peaceful & relaxing’ experience, well if he had walked out just the ONCE when there are 25/30 people in the pool that are using it free as there using the restaurant, it certainly was not PEACEFUL as stated paying guest actually moved away from the noise, odd one or went out of hotel, as this was not peaceful & relaxing, and as I stated I never once see manager parole around pool area, I did see him around front desk 3/4 times in the whole stay we were there, but not once outside in pool area. And he clearly stated to me on TUESDAY that the offer was only on for PNE MORE DAY his words, but Lied as it continued till our final day as board outside restaurant was clearly visible to see.
Re our room I did read description of bathroom stating it had a bath and shower inside it, very modern I’d say in the 90’s but how outdated it is now in 2026."
