"I amm so disappointment regarding our experience at the hotel this evening during the "Level 8 Party". I want to make clear that our complaint is not about the party itself. We were aware from the notice in the hotel that an event was taking place, and we have absolutely no issue with the hotel hosting events. However, we returned to the hotel at approximately 9pm and simply wanted to purchase a drink from the hotel bar to take back to our room. We waited at the bar for around 20 minutes, only to then be told that we needed to obtain tickets in order to purchase a drink. As paying hotel residents, we found this extremely frustrating. We have paid a considerable amount of money to stay here as part of a 30th celebration. We do not feel that we should have to obtain event tickets simply to purchase a single drink from the hotel in which we are staying. We were not trying to gain entry to the party or take advantage of an event without paying. We simply wanted to use the hotel bar as residents and then return to our room. If the event meant that the normal bar facilities were unavailable to hotel guests, this should have been made very clear in advance and an alternative should have been provided. The situation was particularly frustrating because we had already waited approximately 20 minutes before being informed of this requirement. Frankly, having to obtain tickets simply to buy a drink at our own hotel made the whole process feel unnecessarily complicated and poorly organised. The notice provided to guests specifically invites us to the Level 8 Party, yet makes no mention that the event would restrict normal access to the hotel bar or that residents would require tickets to purchase drinks that evening. For the amount we have paid for our stay, we expected a much better standard of service and, at the very least, the ability to purchase a drink at our hotel without having to participate in an event-ticket system. I would appreciate an explanation as to why paying hotel residents were unable to simply purchase a drink, and I would ask that you consider how this is handled for future events so that hotel guests are not inconvenienced in the same way. The hotel room itself is lovely, just feel so let down after our expereince tonight. Regardless if it's the end of season. We have paid good money to be here. Kimd regards, Room 309 & 310"

"We recently stayed 3 nights to celebrate our 30th Wedding Anniversary. I will say slightly disappointed in some aspects of the hotel. We arrived quite late on Sunday evening around 22.30/23.00. We were given our room number, when we got upstairs room hadn't been cleaned, contacted reception who asked us to come back down. We were then asked were we sure it hadn't been cleaned?? Well yes considering all the bedding was stripped and piled up on the side. We were then given the room next door, I am sure for good customer service someone from reception should have come to us, rather than us have to come back down with luggage etc! I just generally felt the reception staff not overly friendly despite what time of the day we passed. Rooms could do with a bit more lighting towards the balcony and in the shower room, toilet room and sinks had great lighting, never understand hotels that have dressing table/chairs but with no lighting to see anything. Disappointed the rooftop bar wasn't open but I suspect that was our issue going slightly out of season. Plus side lots of wardrobe/draw space(we did have a deluxe room), shower was powerful and good providing it was still light outside. Just some things needed a slight upgrade/TLC but again this could be due to being towards the end of the season and will all be sorted close season. I am on the fence where I would return mainly based on the area as opposed to the hotel."

"I'm 68, my wife is 67, we have a room on the 8th floor, so the lifts broke down we asked when they will be fixed to be told tomorrow. It's 12 noon next day no sign of the lifts being fixed. We are sitting at the pool which is full of debris so I asked them to clean it, I was told the pool is closed, then I was told it was officially closed but I could use it. I think someone is trying to shift responsibility. Stay well clear off this one star hotel"
