"I’ve stayed at Michelin Key hotels, and shocked this is one. They usually have nice little extras, this one has nothing. I was certainly missing The One Barcelona Hotel, which wasn’t a Michelin Key hotel, but had a bottle of wine, chocolates, 2 bottles of premium water in the room waiting for us. We booked a premium, sea view room with a tiny balcony, and that is what we got. Rooms with sea view are very noisy since the patio windows aren’t well insulated (and you’re overlooking a freeway), and the hallway noise is magnified (people walking, talking and opening/closing doors), if you’re a normal or light sleeper, bring earplugs. You feel like you are in the action with all the noise, so be ok with it (I was because we wanted walking proximity to Old Town). This is not a quiet sea-side hotel. Rooftop bar was nice, and reasonably priced cocktails (€14-18), but obvious not a mixologist working there, all the cocktails (basil smash, cosmo, Moscow mule) were out of balance, too much acidity (if you’re a wine drinker, all is good). Service was slow and inattentive. Room had a Nespresso with 4 pods and a bottle of water for the Nespresso, but no water for you to drink (you have to use the tap, but the Nespresso gets bottled water!?). At turn down service is when you get 2 bottles of water. Absolutely most dysfunctional room layout ever! Whoever designed these room layouts has obviously never been a guest in one. They had one usb plug at a mini desk for the entire room (note to management, if you are not going to put a clock in a room, that is ok, but have a usb charging slot on BOTH sides of the bed, one for each person). It would have been nice to have one International plug in the room, like other higher-end hotels have in Europe. They put the Master switch 15cm (6”) above the bed, so if you hit it by accident while sleeping, it shuts off the air conditioning; or turns on all the lights. TV turns on by itself every 10 minutes, so I just unplugged it (called to have it fixed, but they couldn’t fix it). Big gouges on closet doors. Again, these are all things that a Michelin Key hotel should never have (and of course for the price you pay!). Toilet was glassed in (with shading), but not private; and no built-in bidet which is typical for hotels at this price point. Pillows and bed were very comfortable. View on 4th floor was nice (be mindful this hotel has ancient ruins in front of it, with lots of trees, then a 6 lane roadway, then the ocean). Towels were great, but again due to the poor design you could not hang a bath towel to dry on the towel rack, it would cover all the other towels. Staff at the front were exceptionally attentive and helpful. Rooftop bar has an amazing view. Food was ok and very pricey (which is fine, you’re paying for the view). I thought the hotel was too far from town. It’s a 15min walk, but there not many stores, bars, restaurants or coffee shops on that walk. Next time I’d stay closer to downtown. But we wanted that ocean view. They lose 1 star because unlike EVERY other hotel chain’s frequent stayer program (including Ritz & Four Seasons), they don’t care if your a Leading Hotels of the World frequent stayer member, and you don’t get any member benefits unless you book directly with the hotel. Customer service is obviously not a priority, it’s money, and if they can save a buck they will."

"An absolutely beautiful hotel in a perfect location! Our room was lovely, with a beautiful sea view, and the windows were so well insulated that we couldn’t hear any noise from outside. The staff are incredibly warm, friendly, and helpful, and the service is truly outstanding. We had a wonderful stay and would definitely come back!"
