"It makes me a little sad not to give this hotel 5 stars because it has so much potential to be incredible. Starting with the positives…
The location is fantastic – only around a 15–20 minute drive from Palma. We hired a car, so I can’t comment on taxi prices, but there is plenty of free parking.
The photos do this hotel a disservice. They really need updating because the hotel is much nicer in person. Our room was lovely, with comfortable bedding, and nice quality towels. The bathroom was slightly dated, but nothing that affected our stay.
The gym was another pleasant surprise. It’s better than the photos suggest. I also had a few personal training sessions with Miguel, and they were excellent. He was knowledgeable, motivating, and I’d highly recommend booking a session if you’re staying here.
The food exceeded expectations (except the pasta dishes). Breakfast was also good, with a nice selection of food. We often went towards the end of the breakfast service, and I was really impressed that everything was still fully stocked and being replenished. So many hotels start packing away early or stop replacing items before breakfast officially ends, which is always disappointing. Here, it was clear they maintained the same standard right until the end of service. A special mention to the chef making the eggs every morning—he was always smiling, friendly, and a lovely way to start the day.
The grounds were very well kept.
The things that stopped this being a true 5-star experience…
Firstly, the spa massage was genuinely one of the worst I’ve ever had. I won’t go into detail because the reception team handled the situation professionally and compensated me appropriately, so they are already aware of the issue. Truly horrendous.
Communication from the hotel could also have been better. During our stay there was a wedding taking place, as well as renovations to one of the bars. Neither of these ruined our stay, but it would have been appreciated to have been informed before we arrived. It’s about managing expectations, and I’d expect that level of transparency from a hotel of this standard.
A big disappointment was the pool service. The actual pool itself is beautiful (other than the really ugly bins next to the pool boys), and the sunbeds are incredibly comfortable, and everything is clean and well maintained.
However, ordering drinks was frustratingly difficult. Staff were very hard to find, I often had to chase someone down just to place an order, and on a couple of occasions my drinks were simply forgotten. It’s such a shame because I would have happily spent much more on food and drinks if the service had been more attentive. Most of the time there seemed to be only one person covering the entire pool area, which simply wasn’t enough. The only good service by the pool was the little complimentary treats they brought around during the day, like fresh fruit and appetisers—a thoughtful touch.
The pool boys were also quite inconsistent. Sometimes they would come over with towels, other times they wouldn’t. At other luxury hotels I’ve stayed at, someone greets you as you arrive, prepares your sunbed, and brings fresh towels without you needing to ask. Here, that level of service was very hit and miss.
The contrast between the breakfast service—which was warm and attentive and the pool service was striking. It felt like two completely different standards of hospitality.
Despite these issues, we really enjoyed our stay and absolutely plan to return. This hotel has all the ingredients to be a true 5-star destination, and with a few improvements to communication, spa and pool service, it really could be exceptional."
